It's not his fault, it's never his fault, just curious where that line gets drawn? I don't post his good numbers because there aren't any to post. He's basically a 1 WAR player on average for his entire career. Like I've heard of stupid defenses, but this is next level idiocy on your part. I back up every single argument I have with stats. They aren't filled with emotion, they are neutral. And they paint a picture that has no preconceived bias towards anything. I didn't go nuts in April because I knew what he was doing was a fluke - It was EASY and OBVIOUS to anyone who scrolled through the numbers to obtain that same conclusion. Your ignorance towards basic statistical understanding does you no favors - And it's laughably stupid that you think someone who understands that somehow impacts their life negatively? Like I've said countless times, my criticism revolves around his underperformance and his ego, both negatively detrimental to this team. I can back up everything I say, every single time, regardless of your tired, unoriginal diatribe that you have to resort to because you know you're wrong. I know that I'm wrong? Ha!!! What an ego you have. I happen to go along with how's he's doing in the moment, and cheer when it's something good. You choose to sit there, and count down the days until he fails, and then pounce. You're the only one I know that would bash somebody for cheering on a player on their favorite team, when he does something good. You see Hosmer get a hit, and I'm sure you say to yourself, whatever, he's going to fail soon enough. How pitiful. This is going in circles and you can fan however you want, whether it's half ass, or full on. You be you. Why else would you argue a negative asset? I mean...it makes no sense. You can't get past the fact that criticism doesn't make you a "bad fan." You nailed it - You're about what he does in the moment. A microcosm. I'm a big picture person that's versed in analyzing data. You see an April where he hit .389, I see a guy who carried an unsustainable profile that made regression inevitable. You live in an echo chamber - I choose not to. I know PLENTY of folks who make my (valid) criticism seem mild. And this will continue to go in circles because you're going to continue to be myopic. Notice how you haven't said a word about his mindset in that article? How do you defend a guy who plainly says "Elevating the ball doesn't work for me."? As you say, you be you. I'd choose a different path.

I'd choose a different path. Maybe you're just a hard person to please. I don't know. I'm a person that will be happy when someone does well and will talk about it, especially when the other talk is all negative. I absolutely understand that Hosmer is not going to sustain this batting average, how he was getting walks under his belt, etc... I was enjoying, and always will enjoy it when he does good things. Nothing wrong with that. You assume I'm myopic about his situation, but I completely understand that he most likely won't have a great year, but I'm rooting for it. That's the difference between you and I. For example, I know Profar probably won't bat near 300, but I'm rooting for it. I guess I'm just more of an optimistic person than you are, and I don't sit there, and wait for the inevitable without praising some of the good in-between. So be it.

Hosmer with a 2 out RBI double. With an elevated ball no less.
Must've been sheer luck.

Don't care if he was blind as a bat. Padres needed that run - and for once, a Padres hitter produced one.
Go AZTECS!

He must've been blind all April.... His vision has been getting more clouded since April. But...if he could hit the ball like that more consistently, it would be a wonderful thing. First RBI since May 14th.

First RBI since May 14th. Noticed a lotta broken bats from him lately. Sometimes a matter of an inch or two. Get that label involved and let 'er rip!
