I looked up the numbers and posted them a while back- our ORB% w/Mensah vs W/O. We were significantly better with him, even when playing against quality teams.
He is the missing piece for the team.

Actual v expected isn't nonsense, but burying your head in the sand and posting noncontextual raw numbers as if they mean much might be. Actually, didn't mean to imply that it's nonsense because it isn't. Rather, I'm waaaaay to lazy to crunch all those numbers and do a wonky deep dive. Having said that, the numbers I did spend waaaay to much time downloading/calculating tell a pretty basic, black-and-white story. As Dutcher has said several times in interviews, before Mensah went down, SDSU was an elite rebounding team. Afterward, we were average. That's a big deal. And it goes a long way toward explaining some of the difficulties the team had down the stretch. The numbers support we were a better rebounding team with Nate, the eye test and common sense also support this fact. This is a unique opportunity for this team to make a deep run in MM, Nathan’s return will provide a huge lift for their chances. I continue to hold out hope for his healthy return.

Nathan still leads the team in blocked shots, with 22, having only played in 14 games compared to the #2 guy (Yanni) with 20 in 32 games.

I believe I heard Dutcher tell Darren Smith on AM1360 that if Mensah, with his 7'5" wingspan, could do nothing but come onto the court and hold his arms up, we'd be a better team.

Funny how Nathan's return is the least of our worries now. I guess if they postpone the tournament a month it gives him another month to heal. Here's to April Madness!

Has anyone heard anything on how Mensah's appointment went? I can understand if the team wants to keep it hush hush, but it would be nice to know. I hope he is cleared to go and healthy.

Would it be safe for Mensah to play with the Corona virus? Doesn't this effect the lungs and he's on medication for his lungs.

I understood that he was to undergo some final tests Mon. and Tues. in order to gain medical clearance. But so far, the coronavirus thing has swamped all else.

I am NOT saying that he has been cleared. Just that being cleared at this point could result in an ironic twist for all.
Sorry for any confusion that I may have unintentionally/inadvertently created.

I understand the need to be careful but... why can't they just check the temperature of each athlete, coach, etc. when they enter the arena to determine who plays and who leaves. My understanding is one of the very first symptoms is elevated tempeture

It doesn’t really matter at this point. The season is over. He needs to just spend the next few months getting fully healthy and preparing for next season.

Would it be safe for Mensah to play with the Corona virus? Doesn't this effect the lungs and he's on medication for his lungs. He is on blood thinners so as to shrink the blood clot in one of his lungs. Blood thinners do not effect the lungs in any way. The reason for such caution is that a person on blood thinners is prone to bruise very easily and could cause another clot. It probably takes 10 to 14 days for the body to rid itself of the blood thinners. I'm not a doctor but I have personal experience with blood thinners.

Nathan played in 14 games - any chance Aztecs could try to see if NCAA would give him a medical red shirt year
Could at least try- or do they have to wait until after his fourth year ?
