Blah, blah, blah ... blah. I tend to believe what Dutcher says over your conspiracy theory!!!!!!!! Go negative Nelly. Always the glass is half empty. Take your head out of the sand. The NCAA uses NET rankings as the primary tool to determine tournament berths and sendings. Last year, Utah State held a NET ranking of 29 after the MWC tournament compared to our 115. Utah State is returning all of their key players. They are picked to win the conference and are very likely to be one of the top mid-major teams next season. In selecting a home and home partner Saint Mary’s had to have been looking at the potential quality of the opponent. Utah State is going to be the higher ranked team next year. This isn’t a long term agreement. They are only playing one game in each of the next two seasons. Our five year dominance over the Aggies in head to head matchups is irrelevant to the tournament committee and therefore to the Utah State decision makers. There isn’t even an argument here. Projecting the rankings of our teams in the second year is far more difficult but I think it unlikely that either team will approach the NET ranking that the Aggies will attain in the upcoming season. So they pulled the trigger on the better team. Yeah right, that why it took two months for the announcement to come out. It was because both us and St. Mary's didn't want another road game in 2019, but believe what you want.

The season ticket holders are champing at the bit to watch that game. Next year is going to be even better. I’m so glad that the coaches purposefully gave up a home game against SM next year so that we can play two worthless games instead. $#!+, it’s impossible to question the trajectory of this program when Dutcher is filling the roster and schedule with such unquestioned quality. Dutch should double down on his accomplishments and leave two scholarships and leave a game unscheduled next year. That’ll show everyone. Then we can remind everyone about how well we were doing 7 to 10 years ago. That’ll show these upstarts what for.

So they pulled the trigger on the better team. Why play the 2019-2020 season? Just give the MWC championship and NCAA tournament bid to Utah State. Why follow the Aztec, they will be a #115 team. LOL!!! Everyone one on this blog is talking about how good our guards are going to be and I agree they will be good, however no one is talking about our bigs. This team will be different then than our Aztecs teams of the past. We are going to be a physical team this year. It also seems that there has been a concentrated effort to get our big much more physical with bring in Yanni from SEC to the physical development of Nathan. Has anyone seen how big Nate is? He looks like a beast there are going to be some good Physical battles with Queta. Nolan even looks a lot more physical this year.

The issue is that Utah State is the better team. This level of stupidity is exactly why I quit coming to this site and why I regret taking a peek today. The reason they backed out if the agreement with us had nothing to do with the level of comp and everything to do with timing. After SMC booked another road game they wanted to switch ours to he played in Moraga. We have enough tough road and neutral site games and wanted it in Viejas. USU was OK with adding another road game.

The coaches may feel that our road schedule this year is already sufficiently difficult and that there is a greater need to fill the home schedule this year. I get it and agree. I think that it’s a tough call to turn down a quality home and home regardless.

We have at least 5 games away from Viejas already, all pretty damn tough, and you want your season ticket holders to have at least 16 home games, irregardless of the opponents. It may still work out next year; only time will tell. Soria does a damn good job of turning over every possible stone. Dutch made it sound like USC could be a potential H&H down the road as well.

Thanks but there wasn't enough guys like you and too many negative and uninformed people to make it worth the frustration. Unfortunately I have a very hard time ignoring trolls and stupidity...wish I could.
