Much more realistic picture about Zylan and Malik when we head into December .
Getting back to 2017 , looking forward to see who we can get Visits from ? Have not heard any 4 or 5 saying they are coming have you ?

For real dude? Somebody told you that he look like a beast in practice over the summer? I heard the same thing a couple of years ago regarding James Johnson(aka work out warrior) and Angelo Chol(aka the black predator) For real. If you heard the same thing about Johnson, you were listening to the wrong people. "People" on this site were saying such things. So, they were heard by all. Doesn't necessarily mean we were buying or drinking the Kool-Aid. Just that it was heard. Just saying.

So is Bey coming for an official visit about 10/22 , if he does not sign up with Colorado or ASU during his visits there ? Any follow up on Ondigo , Sidibe or Wooten ?
Brissett ( sp ) not very likely coming here . McCoy looking at the big name schools ?

If you believe Zylan is ready for NBA after this season, you should reject your season tickets and not attend any basketball game It's obvious you don't know how to properly evaluate NBA talent..stick to the D league When a talented individual can't shoot consistently a jumpshot and make it, you have no place in the NBA There is a huge gulf between writing that something "may" happen, and writing that it "is"?

You're really astute....

Bey October ? That's rich since I was responding to your post about Malik going pro next year. Wether Cheatham Goes pro or not is relevant to 2017 recruiting.

would guess the coaches are primarily looking for guys that play the 5 and or 4 positions , with the remaining scholarships . Believe 2 if Malik and Zylan are here and more if they head toward the Pros. So trying to see what guys will visit and sign that play the 5 or 4 positions . Judging Malik and Zylan . Better opinions after the games with Zags , CAL , ASU and possibly Utah if we play them ?

Zylan and Malik are going to have to play much better to even be considered for the NBA and what position would they play in the NBA is the big question,Zylan would have to play small forward and he has zero time at that position and his shooting is not good enough to play that position so there is no way he is going anywhere for at least two years,Malik has the same problem execpt he is too skinny to play the 4 he needs time to bulk up so both of these players need every minute possible on campus to have a legit chance to make a NBA roster,

Most NBA level players are more likely to be selected when they're 19 or 20 than when they're 22. Waiting until your senior year tends to lose players money more often than not. The NBA would rather have a raw player with exceptional upside at 19 or 20 than a more polished player at 22. They know players can get stronger & improve their games at a higher rate in the NBA than at the collegiate level these days. It's all about ceiling not accomplishments (oddly). Disagree on Z - I think in today's game he can easily play the 4 at the next level. His athleticism alone makes him a candidate, but he does also need to develop a NBA-level skill, which as of last year he hasn't done. However, that doesn't mean he can't over 1 year. I don't think Pope stays for his senior year because staying doesn't do him much good at the next level unless he has major issues this year (i.e. still doesn't get enough PT or he absolutely sucks). Getting in a gym full time is more likely to up his game for the NBA. Same with Z. I think he stays thru this year and next year, but you can never discount athletic talent. It definitely wouldn't shock me to see him test the waters. If he's going to get drafted, he's as likely to be drafted after this year as next year IMO, if he's a full time player. As for recruiting, you ALWAYS prepare to recruit at least 1 over what your expected to need in today's world of early exists & transfers. If you have 4 scholarship seniors, you have 5 recruits in your queue (and/or leave 1 open for transfers).

July evaluation month is done for recruits and coaches. We did land a SG and SF . Also have a guard transfer for 2017 . So heading into 2017 we have 2 scholarships to hand out if Malik is back and 3( we some times hold one as needed for a transfer) ? if he is off to the pros . We lose Valentine up front at the 5 and Dakari, D.Williams and Matt as SG / SF 's . Next step is lining up visits and possible additional signings for NLI week early November . To me needs are at the 5( does NOT have to be a 7 ft post player , more likely athletic guy for D ) and or 4 positions , Will be very interested to see what guys we can line up for visits to SDSU and / or who invites coaches to visit them for in home or ....?? We are currently ranked #20 in 24/7 2017 MBB team recruiting, obvisouly rankings are fluid since many top 100 kids have not signed any LOIs. 247sports.com/Season/2017-Basketball/CompositeTeamRankings

only about 30% of the top 150 recruits have made a verbal commit . 1 of the top 10 , so a very long way to go . We have a strong need for a quality 5 and or 4 .
