I hope he doesn't end up at Fresno. Fresno just signed Center 6'11 Lazaro Rojas off the Brazilian U19 team, they also have Center Terrell Carter 6'9 275 and PF Karachi Edo 6'6 230, plus they bring in 6'8 220 PF Bryson Allen the #2 ranked Nor Cal reports POY, But lost 6'9 235 Toren Jones the Mizzou transfer. They have an established front court and are over on scholarships.

All this chatter for 3.8pts/2.7rebs? Judging by the number of pages in this thread, you'd think we were talking about Norvel Pelle being back in the mix or something... If someone said we could have Sky back for a 5th year would you want to have him? I sure as hell would, and that's what we'd be getting in Izundu.
2015-2016 Blocks per 100 possessions4.7 Skylar Spencer 8.3 Valentine Izundu 2015-2016 baskets/attempts per 100 possessions3.9/6.6 59.4% Skylar Spencer 6.0/9.3 64.3% Valentine Izundu He wouldn't be Skylar. He seems to block more shots, shoot more often, and make a higher percentage of shots.

Aztecs have Nolan Narain , who red shirted last year learning to play the 5 , and could be the best outside shooting offensive center we have had in a long time. Plus Zylan. The need is a player with experience ,that can be strong defensively and rebound , that can play in 2016 . Also academically sound . So Izundu seems to be what we need . Do not know who you were honestly expecting , we could sign that fills all those needs ?

Spencer played and contributed to this team for four years. He was a great rim protector and was the best shot blocker in Aztec history. I don't think that he is the "gold standard" when it comes to the five position. His length, timing, and hand-eye coordination allowed him to be an elite shot blocker. Curiously, those attributes did not translate to rebounding. His poor hands and lack of offensive skill made him an offensive liability. It was no accident that the teams on which he most contributed were deficient on the offensive end of the court. I would gladly trade him or his clone for player with a skill set more similar to Josh Davis or Malcolm Thomas. These guys played defense at a high level, rebounded extremely well, and score some points.

Josh was primarily a PF , most noted for his rebounding . Was not a good shooter . Got most of his points on put backs . Good defender . M. Thomas was very good around the basket . He had B. White and K. Leonard as his forwards . Good all around player but not sure if he was as good of a defender as Izundu is . Also remember Izundu was putting up those numbers against a good PAC conference : CAL , Arizona, Ducks, Utah , Washington ..... all had good centers .

If comparing two players value on defense, block rate is not necessarily the deciding factor. As for Davis, he played against other teams bigs, was able to guard perimeter players extremely well, and he rebounded at a high level. He also was able to put a ball into a hoop. He made roughly as many field goals in his Junior year at Tulane as Skylar did in his entire SDSU career. He was a better big than was Spencer in every category.

Josh was a very good player at SDSU . but mostly rebounding about 10 a game and did play solid D . Some of his offensive stats 7.7 ppg , 45 FG% all 2 point shots mostly near the basket . 47 FT% .

Don't we have a good contract attorney on this board that will work pro bono to get him here?

And despite those modest numbers, Davis made as many field goals in his senior year on the Mesa as Spencer did in his final two years combined.
