And they can just pass the Heisman on as well instead of having to collect it. Yes, this was an Urban recruit at first.

Best case chance for a National Championship game for a MWC team would be Auburn win out - including a win in the Iron Bowl, then having Newton's eligibilty pulled before the game. A one-loss SEC team will bypass any non AQ team, no doubt, it is that biased, so AU has to win then lose eligibility. I don't see Oregon losing so their spot is a lock, IMO.

Very doubtful he could lose eligibility by January. The investigations almost never conclude that quickly (look at the Bush case). It's possible though.

Seems it's either one or the other, instant ineligibility based upon some immediate finding - or 5 years and a cloud of dust...

I think the best thing that could happen is Auburn losing. TCU has been dominant all season, and I don't see them losing at all (including this week--sorry, guys). I think TCU-Oregon title game would be spectacular, but alas, 2 things will end up happening--another one-loss team will leapfrog TCU, and Boise St will win out and get screwed over by the BcS and not even get into one of the BcS bowls

Not the title game though.

There is a purported beginning and an end: Money solicitations...a business (church: let's call it like it is) funded; there is character issues: theft, cheating, buying tests - when does the middle come?

Does this mean he is ineligible? Isn't this enough to bury him in college football?

If it is found that Auburn paid the $100,000 plus, it will be time to envoke the NCAA death penalty again. Mississippi State was obligated to report that money request immediately to the NCAA. We are talking death penalty again if that is true. So Cam went to Florida. If they are found to have paid the father even a fraction of what he was asking, they, too deserve the death penalty. The SEC has been so damned corrupt for so many decades, that the only way to put a stop to it is the Death Penalty. Remember Johnson receiving death threats when he was recruiting in SEC country. Well, it is time for the SEC to die.

Expect Newton not to play against Georgia: www.sportsbybrooks.com/sec-ncaa-send-auburn-unmistakable-warnings-29236And expect that if the game goes down to the wire, Auburn is going to go down to Georgia. I feel bad for the kid if he knew nothing about his old man opening his yap and soliciting money from Mississippi State and then forcing him to go to Auburn when MSU wouldn't pony up. However, since Newton is known to have purchased a hot laptop while at Florida and rumor has it he transferred not to get playing time at a JC but because he was caught cheating and was going to be kicked out, I have to think there's a reasonable chance the kid was in on the shakedown, in which case I don't feel sorry for him at all. At a minimum, the pundits are saying that there's now no way Newton will stay at Auburn for his senior season and since he's in great need of additional seasoning, it's going to set him back in the NFL. The upside for SDSU is that without Newton, I see no way Auburn beats Alabama and, therefore, assuming TCU beats us, there's then a very good chance they will play for the BCS championship. In fact that's almost guaranteed if LSU loses the SEC championship game.
