So funny. This starts at the top with Coach Neal acting like they were guaranteed to win if it wasn't for that call. The whining and excuses start at the top and that's the type of program they'll have as long as he's coach. "Should have" indeed!

LOL, thank you Jon Rothstein for hassling him. It was much needed. Lobos are just too too serious.

Well, once a lobozo, always a lobozo.

Unbelievable. As been stated previously, it's shocking that more people aren't blaming Neal for calling a play that wasn't necessary. Watch the replay...we weren't really pressuring the passer or the guy receiving the pass. Pass it in normally, get fouled, and hit one of two free throws. Instead, they ran a risky play with less than 15 seconds left and it backfired. Neal would say "it's not a risky play, we run it 100 times in practice". Lots of plays work perfectly in practice.
My seats are in the 8th row, on the baseline, so I had a great view. The play was right in front of me. In real time, and in the heat of the moment, it looked the guy receiving the pass (can't remember who) may have caught it inbounds and turned around to toss it back in. Everyone in my row point and yelled the same thing, and the ref had a poorer angle than us. It was a toss up call, and it went our way.
Again, if you believe that one play cost the Lobos the game (which is never the case), blame the guy who called it.
And bottom line...stop whining. You never see Coach Fisher do so. It's always "next play".
And anyway...you're going to lose to a weak Utah State team, so it didn't matter, right? We should be the ones complaining... about the Lobos hurting our RPI.

I saw this and laughed. Jon Rothstein wasn't having it. He seemed annoyed by Granger. Love that he gave him a hard time. Good pub for State.
"Should have doesn't cut it on selection Sunday" Love it.

Everyone's a lobo! sweet comeback Danny. It's hard to not feel awesome about their eating crow when it comes to the "classless azztecs" and "we should win 3 out of 3" talk that has been so prevalent over there. The thing they clearly know in the back of their minds but they HATE to think about is that Neal isn't that great of a coach or recruiter. He was in Alford's shadow and it's starting to look like he might be sucking them back into "decent" status instead of consistently excellent as they used to be. They might rage against it if an SDSU fan says it to them directly but I KNOW most of them are thinking it and saying it during losses.

I'm more amazed that he didn't call to foul Spencer when he had the ball for a few seconds.

Does anybody have a link to a version of that clip with subtitles? I couldn't hear what Granger was saying with Rothstein's balls in his mouth.

That clip doesn't include the Bruce Willis comments by Rothstein - and the pointed look at Granger when Rothstein said "Yippee-Ki-Ay…"

It speaks to Danny Granger that I have no recollection of Danny Granger as a Lobo, nor until 25 seconds ago when I pressed "play" on the video did I have any idea of his existence at all...

That speaks more to you than it does Granger. He was an absolute stud in New Mexico and regularly destroyed us. Outside of Kawhi and MAYBE Bogut he's the best pro the MW has produced.

Thanks for posting this ...
Granger was a stud and we couldn't handle him very well. Being a Homer ...it's OK ... he's a Lobo for life ..... I did like Jon pushing his buttons
Did you notice that Parrish didn't jump in on either side ....the wish-wash prick
