This is a San Diego State athletics chat room. The only relevance to us should be whether the professional football team stays or go. Those who care about all of SDSU athletics should hope they get to leave for the cesspool that is Los Angelese, the sooner the better. Hopefully they go soon so WE can get on with building a new college football stadium in Mission Valley. You seem to forget that there are people, like myself, who care not only about SDSU Athletics but also the San Diego Chargers. Based on the poll on this board, it's about 50/50.

Could....Hell, the Aztecs could win this weekend too. Since the Aztecs did win ... does that mean the Chargers are going to LA without the Raiders? You can assume whatever you'd like to. I see no correlation whatsoever.

True. However, there are those that care more for the Chargers than the Aztecs. and I'm sure your crystal balls tells you who they are. Who gives a damn? No crystal ball needed. It is pretty obvious.

It will be a city vote and it will not pass. The only chance it would have of passing is if the Chargers go on a deep playoff run or make it to the Super Bowl. I doubt they even make the playoffs this year. Agree 100%; no corporate welfare. Maybe one day you'll be able to explain to me how having a tenent pay for a large part of replacing obsolete CITY OWNED property is "corporate welfare" but I doubt it, at least rationally. Crickets...

So I see you're once again quoting your opinions rather than what was said in the articles. Brilliant!

So I see you're once again quoting your opinions rather than what was said in the articles. Brilliant! You realize he directly quoted portions of the article, right? No question, he selectively quoted, but his choices of quotes is consistent with the overall tone of the article. I take what Acee writes with a huge grain of salt anyway, so I'm not any more concerned about this article, but it does not paint a good picture.

I've been monitoring all the stuff coming out the owners meetings and I pretty much yawned. Nothing really new that we didn't know two weeks ago, which is not a big surprise but still disappointing.
We're still not going to really know anything until January.

I disagree that nothing came out of it. The feedback from these meetings showed that the odds favor a decision in a couple of months rather than a delay. It also also showed many owners want Spanos and Kroenke to work something out. It seems the Raiders are somewhat of an afterthought at this point according to a few of the beat writers in NYC.

The Raiders are the big problem. There's zero percent chance of a solution in Oakland for them. They're actually the most logical team to move in with Kroenke because that's the easiest solution to the Raider problem, unless they go to St. Louis but that really doesn't make a lot of sense. They've got no connection to STL.
I still think it's ultimately going to wind up being the Rams in LA, the Chargers going downtown and SDSU moving into MV.

Scott Kaplan annoyed with reporting: "Kevin Acee is too negative."
The bigger story is in San Diego. "Monster development on the horizon"
More, after the break.
1 hour later....
The real story is at home. There are people in this city working to find THE SOLUTION.
THE SOLUTION is.... THE WAR IN DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO! Diplomacy has settled in.
Chargers will never say they prefer downtown San Diego. BUT THEY DO! The Chargers will say the NFL prefers SD.
THE SOLUTION IS STADIUM CONVENTION CENTER COMBO!
1. Citizen's initiative in early January - Convention Center/Stadium. You can throw away EIR! 2. If the Chargers are not granted relocation, then all of a sudden.... Chargers jump on board! 3. Internal battle between "hoteliers" and "Mayor's Office". Everybody can win! 4. It's big! Will explode as quickly as this weekend. If it happens it'll happen in 2-3 weeks.
Cory Briggs and the fibs have been discussing this topic as well
The mayor is on board.
Opens up Qualcomm to sdsu
