Decent showing of Charger fans there at Heinz field tonight. Nicely played.

Hey, I want the Chargers to stay but to be honest, I'm not spending another dime on them until they commit to San Diego.

Steeler fans travel well AND there's a ton of Western Penn folks that left that Shitstained hellhole behind to live in So Cal, so they're local. Made a run to Lowes yesterday @ around 11AM to pick up some project needs. The lot was FULL of Steeler fans tailgating as they waited for the stadium lot to open. None of them were in rent-a cars.
One of the reasons for a new stadium was demonstrated last night. In a properly configured stadium, those sideline, lower bowl seats would be in the hands of Charger season ticket holders. but at Qualcomm they're crap seats with an obstructed view, so they tend to get sold to visiting team fans. It's a BAD look on TV.

Its being reported that Rivers had to use a silent count last night because of the noise of the crowd.

If a miracle occurs and the Chargers stay in San Diego ticket prices would skyrocket and Chargers fans would be much more likely to sell tickets to the big games to subsidize the cost for season tickets. I'm sure you'll disagree.

I'm not sure that pointing out that there were a lot of Steelers fans at the game is a solid argument against the Chargers staying in San Diego. If the Chargers move to LA, their fans will almost certainly be even more outnumbered by opposing team's fans, and probably outnumbered by (a) people there to be seen and (b) people there for an event.

Agree. But Charger fans were NOT outnumbered. As I stated, I've been to these games and putting opposing teams fans down low and on the sidelines, magnifies their presence both in the stadium and on TV.

I worked at the stadium in seat service about 6 or 7 years back, basically got to go to the games for free. The lower levels had plenty of Charger fans. Even the Raider games had at least a 60/40 mix

What color is the sky in your world? Here's a quote from Raiders owner Mark Davis in one Acee's articles yesterday "I'm a happy camper...everything is going to work out." He may be being disingenuous, but why would he say that? There are two cities working seriously on stadium proposals and an owner with enough cash to build his own in LA. Think Mark Davis knows he has a soft landing even though there is zero talk about a new stadium in Oakland? You may wanna look out your window and take a second peak at the sky. Davis has very little money. Nevertheless, it's obvious he isn't dumb enough to be wasting his time trying to promote that farce in Carson. www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/oakland-raiders-los-angeles-silicon-valley-stadium-al-davis-082615

(Referring to the linked article).

How's that for a kick in the ass?

Hey, I want the Chargers to stay but to be honest, I'm not spending another dime on them until they commit to San Diego. Reviewing the wreckage, I'm surprised this horse wasn't beaten pages ago. Oh well, here's my thing... I'd be surprised if Charger fans, (including the season ticket holder I spoke with at the hockey game), went home and said, "let's not watch the Bolts get bitch slapped on Sunday, what say we fly up to SJC and watch the Aztecs play the Spartans with first place in the MW West at stake". Yeah, who needs the Chargers. Better yet, and possibly more plausible, "once our beloved Bolts leave, let's wait for some idiot to pony up millions for a new stadium so we can continue to ignore the Aztecs there as well". Yeah, NFL fans of visiting teams can make their presence known, especially in cities west of the Rockies with mucho transients. That's the NFL. When I was a season ticket holder and the team truly sucked, it was frustrating to see big ticket teams at the Q. It did feel like a "road" game. But, (again), here's the thing.... the Chargers fortunes change for the better and you got some "home" games. Again, this is the NFL. I would like to think the same would hold true for the Aztecs as well. Of course with that program, we're just talking attendance.

Supposedly, ticket agents for the Chargers were encouraging fans to buy season tickets, then selling tickets to big games to opposing fans like the Steelers to pay off half of the season ticket costs.
Sounds like a Spanos move to me.

I was at the Chargers/Browns game a week ago. Loge on the visitor side was near empty but the stadium still was about at least 1/4 Brown fans. San Diego has never been good at supporting it's teams...unless they are on top of their league. It's funny that charger fans feel the need to defend the bolts when anyone who's been around expects that sort of thing to happen here. San Diego has some of the softest fans bases in the country.

That's the west coast for you. Too many transplants here. People don't flock to Cleveland or Pittsburgh to live, that's for sure.
Edit: Also, people don't go vacationing to those places either, like they do here. Double whammy.
BTW, in a so-called stronghold football city like Denver, they got overrun by Steeler fans a couple of years ago as well. The Steeler Nation is a force, lol.

If Davis finds another big-time partner from L.A., I'd move the Raydas a helluva lot higher than the Chargers. You keep assuming nothing is going to change from now to decision day. Wrongo

Those are called Club tickets and are the most expensive. Friars rd side faces the hot sun so no doubt why there were many seats empty.

No doubt alot of people feel the same way. If not, they're buying tickets are turning them trying to make a profit.
