Talking football of course. Baylor, not that many years ago use to be the doormat in the Big12, and before that in the Southwest Conference. They have only began to improve their football program in the last few years, and I believe they would make a great opponent for us with a home & home series. They are not too far away in Texas, and we have played them in basketball already. What do you think about getting them on our schedule?

Baylor would be fine, but so would Texas Tech, Kansas State, Iowa State, Kansas, and Oklahoma State. Sure, those schools vary greatly in terms of strength. Kansas is terrible, Iowa State pretty bad, Okie State pretty good, etc. But I would welcome a series with all the Big-12 schools except West Virginia (too far away), TCU, Oklahoma, and Texas (all very tough chances).
The problem would be to get them to agree to a home and home, and that's the only way we should deal with the schools I suggested above. I can see money games against Top-10 schools (TCU, Oklahoma, Alabama, Michigan State, etc.), but we should limit those to one every two years. What we need is to get at least one P5 school to play here each year. I can't see how any P5 school would play here with no return game, and the very top schools would probably not play here under any circumstances. But Iowa State, Kentucky, Purdue, and the like might go for a home-and-home.

AzWm Agree, most of the teams you suggest could make great h&h, starting with someone willing to come here in 2019.and also agree about h&h vs. pay games. The hurdle is finding someone willing and who has specific open dates. No easy dance.

the B12 has 9 conference games and only 3 OOC games . So that means 5 away games and 4 home games in year X , so they are going to want at least 2 if not 3 home OOC games for that year . It flips the next year . The better teams may want a semi decent team to play to help its national rating , maybe for a home game but make sure it is a lower level on the road . The middle to lower level teams , as noted by the ISU President is looking for W's so it can get bowl eligible , so wants cup cakes .

0 shot we can get a 1 for 1 with baylor And Baylor isn't worth taking a 2-4-1 with. Contrary to Nebraska, Michigan, Ohio State, ND or an SEC big boy (but forget them, they won't travel west of Tejas), Baylor won't bring more than 15K or so fans. Plus, although Baylor now has a great program, casual fans don't know that so Baylor won't motivate them to come to the Q. Plus, just how much would Baylor pay us to go to Waco? Not all that much would be my guess. I still say if we schedule one of the true big boys and they have to come to SD before we return to their house, we will almost sell out the Q plus we'll earn ~$1.5M from traveling to play them. I understand others disagree but just like I can't dissuade them from their position, they haven't been able to convince me to the contrary either.

MOW, the lead weight of AM.
I suspect we have a disgruntled high school English teacher patronizing our Aztec board.

If it's a H&H there's no $1.5M payout. Not to mention how unlikely it is that a "Big Boy" of CFB would travel here first unless they are in the region (i.e. PAC).
