When the Flintstones decided to stay home (late 90's), Michigan State was not a "Blueblood" I kinda remember a guy named Earvin something that played there and I'm pretty sure it wasn't in the late 90's. Believe he may have even won a national championship against some dude named Larry. I remember that too because I am from there. Prior to 2000, MSU was an up and down team, [they made the Tourney, but were never a threat to win it] not the consistently good team it is now. Just because they won one Championship in 1979 does not make them a BlueBlood. Is UTEP a Blueblood because they won a title?

unlv won once, too. Blueblood? Yes, in recruiting circles and on paper. Oh, you meant in terms of on court performance?

In fact they were Texas Western when they one that famous national championship. I don't really care about whether or not MSU is or was a blueblood I'm just pointing out that (even prior to MSUs late 90s teams) SDSU has never bolstered a roster with 5 NBA picks on it, 2 of whom were in the first 5, like the Spartans had in 79.

Well on that score I agree with you, and I consider MSU a blue blood now, but not in 1979. The talent depth at SDSU is really getting solid and it is awesome to have multiple 4 and 5 star rated recruits in every class now.

Just watched sports on kusi news and they said Ayton is leaving Balboa Prep to go to Santa Ana Mater Dei. I wonder what happened at Balboa Prep. Its kinda strange for him to leave all the sudden since Jaylen Hands just enrolled there. Also, since Zach Jones is his legal guardian and the head coach at Balboa Prep. I have no idea what happened. I think him coming to SDSU is a long shot but I hope we still have a chance to land him.

There are 6 Blue Blood programs.
Teams: Duke, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, UCLA
Since 1965 (last 50 years) there have only been four Final Fours that did not include one of those six teams; 2013, 1985, 1983, 1979. That is a crazy statistic.

Do not think Balboa Prep played a strong enough schedule . Ayton wants to be rated as high as possible and go to the best school to develop him as a C/PF for the NBA . Mater Dei - SA is one of the better ones in So Cal area . It would have been nice if Cage had selected SDSU , they could have talked about it this year .

Ayton and Bagley are playing at Hillcrest Prep in PHX AZ. So long Findlay Prep?

in the Rivals ratings he has "slipped " to number 4 , so he needs a more noted school to get back to his number 1 ratings.

In all honesty, we've got no shot at this kid. I'm not being a pessimist, just a realist. We don't develop bigs, and outside of Kawhi, our guys don't stick in the NBA. Obviously, he's a significant cut above our standard recruit and he'll stick wherever he goes to college, but we aren't those top schools he named. We just aren't.
