Glad to see he flew the coup from the Ducks for at least a visit to SDSU . At least we get a visit. Thought he was up there Monday- Wednesday ? Can chat with all concerned and fellow Canuck Narain . Wonder if he is considering SDSU, what rules are about him enrolling , classes start next week ? Or if he is red shirting can it be next semester ? Could be a sticking point ?

Who goes to class in the first week of school anyway? Plus, all the books are now on-line or downloadable.

Could there also be rules by the NCAA about being enrolled , and attending school for a year - while red shirting and then being eligible for 2016. ?

Wonder if he is considering SDSU, what rules are about him enrolling , classes start next week ? Or if he is red shirting can it be next semester ? Could be a sticking point ? As noted, he could push a week or so into the school session. It's not like he has to practice over the next few weeks, so as long as he's academically eligible by October/November no big deal.
But you do bring up an interesting question. Usually when someone transfers in at Semester (mid-year transfer) they aren't eligible to start playing in games for a full calendar year, or the following January. So by those terms he'd start 2nd semester (January 2016), practice with team & then be eligible January, 2017. However, that's typically based on those who are on scholarship elsewhere until December, which is not the case here. Seems to me since he's not on scholarship anywhere this next semester, is academic eligible (presumably), and if he chose to delay entry until January he'd still be eligible next Fall, but not sure? Not sure if he has to be ON scholarship for 1 year until eligible to play or OFF scholarship from somewhere else for a year before eligible?
Anyway, I definitely was not impressed with this kid last year but he was a FR on a young & bad transitioning team, & if our staff can see him being a fit I'd assume they'd believe they could mold him into a SDSU type player. Talent is talent.
Hope he has a great weekend! Would be great if he was sticking around until Monday for the soft opening of the JAM center!

Thought the Jam Center ,soft opening per Dave was Sunday 8/23 , so maybe he will get a look if the coaches are interested in him . He was averaging 12 points and 7 boards , then hurt his back . As we know can really affect a player( thought X had a back injury few years ago) .MG-C missed a few games . But finished with 9 points and 4 boards , on a team that did not seem well coached ( coach in his first year at Mizzu).
Would guess he would want to chose a school where he could start fall of 2016 , rather then have to start second semester .

I am pretty surenit has to do with your release date. He has been released and one year from that date he will be eligible.

Well, I don't see anything in there all that bad, especially considering that the perspective of a beat writer for the team he is leaving probably has a little bit of a negative bias against the kid.

Great weekend for him to visit, move in weekend, here's hoping it leads to a commitment! In my day I would have taken him to the DU house for TGIF. We poured 25 Kegs every Friday and had most of the campus in out back yard.

Every time I've seen him play he's looked terrible, but he was a freshmen. Could use the RS year IMO.

I assume you watched him in SEC play? He had a injury that made him miss many games and his production fell off past that.
I would take him over Mathews and melton.

I know a kid who plays for missou so followed them pretty closely all year. He was a FR on a bad team, which factors into it, but his game wasn't good. Very forced and out of control with poor shot selection. Like I said previously, he could use a RS. Hopefully it was just the S-show that was Missouri this year. Good coaching will help.

He was recruited by 20+ schools and offers from more than half, Michigan State, Marquette, Mizzou, Memphis, Witchita St, Providence and they all can't be wrong. And they still say Oregon is top of the list, Iowa St is still being considered.
