Any 4 or 5 stars we should be glad to get.Oregon is not going to get him over us we are a better program. Keith Smith says hi (unfortunately). I did not think Smith's upside potential was very good. But good point

I know a kid who plays for missou so followed them pretty closely all year. He was a FR on a bad team, which factors into it, but his game wasn't good. Very forced and out of control with poor shot selection. Like I said previously, he could use a RS. Hopefully it was just the S-show that was Missouri this year. Good coaching will help. He was recruited by 20+ schools and offers from more than half, Michigan State, Marquette, Mizzou, Memphis, Witchita St, Providence and they all can't be wrong. And they still say Oregon is top of the list, Iowa St is still being considered. Never said he didn't show well in HS, just that he was very bad more often than good last year. I hope he comes here, as the RS could do him well. He reclassified and moved up a year. IMO that really hurt his production last year. He wasn't ready for big minutes. In two years he may be. plus, really hate the ducks.

He would be a great addition to the team for 2016. He put up some good numbers for a freshmen in the SEC. Shows not only talent but that confidence you want in a kid. Imagine Teki, Hoetzel and Narain all redshirting this year and putting in work at the JAM Center. Hemsley with a year under his belt, Kell an experienced junior, Zylan ready to break loose and seniors Shrigley and Allen. Just need another big man or two and probably another PG.

ISU also starts school 8/24. Their reputation for their athletes is not exactly stellar .Just suspended another player the other day . Revolving door U . Timing wise Ducks do not start classes until September . Plus their facilities are near the top .PAC team . So it could be tough to get MG-C here . He would have to really like it here and move quickly . So we are the long shot to sign him.
Hudson does have connection with CIA Bounce , MG-C's AAU team .
He played on a team at Mizzu, that lacked quality leadership , with a coach starting his first year there . His FRESHMAN ,stats before his Back Injury, that can totally affect your game, were good 12 points and 7 boards , 75%FT , would match up with Aztecs stats.

H is FRESHMAN ,stats before his Back Injury, that can totally affect your game, were good 12 points and 7 boards , 75%FT , would match up with Aztecs stats. I'm curious, did you watch him play? If you did I really doubt you'd think that. From what I watched, which was probably most of 12-14 games, he would have been behind Allen on our bench.
Sometimes stats are inflated by attempts. You could take a lot of the part-time players on our team and put them in his situation and they'd have done just as well, if not better. Including your favorite, Max (Mizzou could have used a shooter!). The FT % is great, but also before his injury he shot 36% from the field. When it comes to rebounding, he's not good. Not his primary role even on a shorter team, but even from a wing/guard perspective he was below average. From a % of available rebounds perspective he's along the lines of a Trey Kell; actually a little worse (defensive % was 10%; AQ was 10% - Kell=13%). I actually show him at just under 4 boards per game prior to getting injured - definitely not 7. His BEST rebounding game all year was 7 (in 36 minutes), and that was the first game against UMKC. He played 28 minutes against Xavier & got zero.
He had a few good games before the injury - UMKC, Oral Roberts, Charminade, SW Missouri, Okie St, so you could see the light. I saw 2 of those 5 & his stats were solid in all 5. He also had some horrendous games before - Purdue, Xavier, Illinois, etc. The better comp. On the season, per Bill's stats above, his O-rating was 87.4 and his D-rating was 109.1. By comparison the only scholarship player with an O-rating under 94 on the Aztezs was Zabo, and NONE had a D-rating over 100. Obviously we're a better D-team by far so the latter is skewed.
Again, definitely NOT saying he's a bad player and couldn't even be great, but last year he was very bad more often than not. And yes, even before the injury. The RS could be exactly what he needs; I do believe leaving Mizzou was a good move from that perspective.
Definitely agree with you, the timing is definitely tighter for us but still doable. Anyone he's lining up visits with this late in the game, especially now AFTER Oregon, has a good shot. I'm sure we'll find out relatively soon.
Hope the visit goes well and hope he joins the team.
PS. On a semi-related topic - I'd be curious what the stats are when it comes to whether kids are most likely to sign with their FIRST official visit, LAST, or somewhere in between? Do they go to their preliminary favorite first (e.g. Oregon in this instance), or save for last? I'm sure some geek is tracking it somewhere??

Believe Alex would buzz you & say the correct question is "What is the Hudson?", after "A river in eastern NY?".

I'm sorry but if you think a top 50 kid that UK wanted till he reclassified would be behind Allen on our bench I cannot take you seriously here

Curious, did you actually WATCH him play THIS year against college competition? If not, I'd be curious if you think watching someone is better or worse than reading articles based on how he showed in HS? Or are you basing your reaction off the fact Kentucky knew he had another year to develop? Have good HS players never looked really bad as FR?

My mistake hit wrong key should have been Coach Hutson . Who I would guess has talked with his AAU coaches for some opinions about if they think he would fit here and help SDSU .
sdcoug sure sounds as if you don't think he is a good player , two paragraphs of stats . Then say he is not a bad player . Bottom line, if it was your decision, would you offer him a scholarship or not ?
Did he have the best freshman year on a bad team no . The Mizzu team was a train wreck . Coach lost control and guys seemed to play with out much discipline . I do not know when his back starting hurting or if it continued even after he came back from his injury . Do guys play with injury , yes . Aztec coaches must think he is worth coming here for the visit , this could be a good place for him and the Aztec team after he red shirts and rehabs . I will go with that and hope we can sign him , but Ducks have advantage to sign him.

He needs to mature his game greatly.

I did in everyone of your posts there are negative comments First and numerous ,about him .In one you have 2 paragraphs. Then in the third paragraph ,you toss in a line or two that he was Not a bad player , but he was Very Bad more often then not . Even before his injury. Would not rate that as a positive comment with a swipe at the end. But a RS year is what he needs to Mature his game Greatly . Do you know when he was injured, played with it or if he came back and played with the injury to help the team? I do not, guess you do. In another post you start in again about your cousin Max ,(must have had some great chats at your family's summer BQ's) who could have been the shooter Mizzu needed . That was a bad Mizzu team, in a solid P5 conference, that needed better leadership, not always easy for a freshmen to be.If Max is as good as you say why did the Aztecs try to bring in Aaron and now MG-C ? Because the coaches did their homework and value their talent . then you do add if the coaches want him it is ok with you Not that many guys transfer after their first or second year from a school , other then medical situations with family , if they had a stellar year , things do not go as they envisioned and they need a new start at a new school .

Any negative comments were in response to comments about what good player he was last year (and your false stats). He was not a good player last year and anyone saying otherwise didn't watch him play. He's a good pick up not due to any ranking as a HS junior, who offered or how he played. He's a good pickup because he has good, raw talent and a year developing it further in our system would do him wonders. Unlike you, I don't define a kid based on his FR year. I've stated he was on a bad team last year. Over and over. As for Max, there you go again. Bashing a kid you obviously know little about with a closed mind. He's a completely different player than Aaron and this kid. Max is the perfect compliment to a player like this, and others.

Why is that not important? Why are you pretending that the fact that recruiting experts all thought he was really good just a year ago does not matter? Why does the fact that Wichita State, West Virginia, and Michigan State all great evaluators of talent schools wanted him not matter?
