Rivals sports writer is predicting USC. Zeigler predicting Zona. USC signed J'Raan Brooks SF 6'8 215 4-star out of Washington. Slow start to summer for Aztec recruiting: McCoy to UNLV, Norris to Oregon, Jeter (Duke) to Arizona, Jackson (UConn) to UNM and even VCU transfer Ahmed Hamdy-Mohamed committed to TCU. For 2018 the dominos are starting to fall. SMH We got Rooks, who was 1 of our PRIMARY targets heading into the summer. We missed on a couple regular transfers to fill the ONE spot we actually have open (staff holding other), but we have a guy coming in this weekend. Only about 1 in 5 high 3* to 5* recruits have committed. IT'S JUNE! Of our 3 HS recruits over the past 2 years only Seiko had committed by now (Schakel in late July; McD in Sept), and kids are committing LATER these days rather than earlier. Hemsley & Narian committed early, but Kell & Pope didn't commit until October. It's early & most of our prime targets are still on the table & we have no clue which way they are leaning. At least wait until August, after eval period, before deeming it "slow". ALL summers start "slow" these days, with few exceptions. 2 local kids committing elsewhere for 2018 doesn't mean all is lost and its far from doom & gloom.

Dutch didn't say on Tuesday, just that someone is coming & then he followed that up by talking about the large # of transfers across college basketball this year. Insinuated it was for this next year (i.e. transfer or 2017 HS recruit). Given the reference to transfer i took that as it being a potential transfer.

he's not coming here. i was at the basketball camp at his school when they said he would announce on friday, and they rattled off the 8 teams in contention. sdsu wasn't mentioned.

Except HE mentioned SDSU when rattling off his top 8. I tend to believe Ziegler on this one. SDSU is being strongly considered, but USC is the leader in the clubhouse.

In 2017 they have these front court players: Emmanuel Akot (LOI), Ira Lee (LOI), DeAndre Ayton (LOI), and Chase Jeter (LOI) Cameron Reddish Zion Williamson Taeshon Cherry
Gerald Liddell Jaedon LeDee Nassir Little Jairus Hamilton Marvin Bagley III Jordan Brown Nazreon Reid Bol Bol Shareef O'Neal (Verbal)Kamaka Hepa Moses Brown Bryan Penn-Johnson

No intention of arguing with anyone over this, but I was there and SDSU was not mentioned by his head coach when talking about the announcement today. I just find it hard to believe that his head coach would neglect to mention the school that the kid is choosing. Anyway, hope he stays home and picks the Aztecs today at noon.

Put it this way, I would be completely surprised if he committed to us. San Diego players want to go elsewhere for college, then they transfer back.....if we're lucky! I hate it......but, that's how it goes.

Did he change it? He said 6 PM as of yesterday at 4:32 PM. Am I the only one that's bothered by the fact that these local kids go on local television to tell us all they are going away? I'm fine with them choosing wherever they want to go but I'd think hardly anyone locally gives a crap about what out of town school they are going to.

Or maybe we will be really happy with him. You never know for sure until he makes the announcement.
