One caution I have about the JAM center is that with it's cozy dimensions (aka shooter's gym), will it have an adverse affect on shooting when the team plays at Viejas/larger arenas?

He must have been a Sterk hire from Wazzu.

He must have been a Sterk hire from Wazzu. Prior to his time at San Diego State, he was the Associate AD for Event and Facility Operations at Washington State from 2001-2011. While at Washington State, he was responsible for event planning and gameday responsibilities for all home athletic events, conference tournaments and NCAA championships, day-to-day oversight and operations of all athletic facilities, and the liaison for the athletic department on capital projects.

would guess if they do a CD/flash drive... and /or can get Fox Sports Network to do a TV show about the Jam Center would be great for donors , fans , and especially Recruiting tool . Opening in August . Open Recruiting time with visits is September through first week of November , so if we can get some recruits here that did not originally have us on their list would e great .Or to seal the deal .
On if the facility is not the same as Viejas . There were numerous times we heard last year, that guys were shooting lights out in practice at Viejas, then had troubles during the real game . Now maybe they can pump in extra crowd noise during practice . But what it could provide is easier ability for guys to use the facility , by themselves or with other team mates on their own. when in previous years , not that easy to have 1 guy stroll over to Viejas and turn on the facility . Do love the story, how one time security called Coach Fisher about a student who had brought in his own light to practice in the dark at Viejas - student's name K. Leonard

Yeah, they should connect the two buildings together and have the coaches offices with views into the JAM so they can see who's putting in the extra time!

UNDER BUDGET & FULLY PAID FOR! Under budget is rare & awesome, but my understanding is it's fully funded but not necessarily fully paid for. They're still raising money for it, and there will be locker room naming opportunities, etc.
Can't wait for the opening!

Anybody have official conceptual renderings, or even better, a builders set of the drawings for JAM Center? Not sure if the latter was made available to the public....

Really? Those things always seemed like they'd be pretty boring to watch. Real life construction always is. Seems like nothing is happening every time I drive by and hardly anyone is even in sight. Then you take a different path for a few days and when you return there's a new building and a freshly paved lot. I'm with ya. Time lapse videos over the course of a week, month or the entire project is great; watching stationary live construction cams....snzzzzzz unless someone is dangling from scaffold or something, or some eagle is building a nest right in front of the camera. Those can be interesting...IMO.
Of course maybe some people enjoy grass growing cam's? ; )
I watched Stanford Stadium torn down and built back up inside of a year. Was disappointed when they took the site down with all the progress pics.

I know that some of it is my impatience but are there like just two guys working on the JAM Center? I'm amazed at how slowly they're doing the front of the building. Does anyone know how much room there's going to be around the courts? I know people have kidded about the length of the courts but I thought that someone with a bit of credibility mentioned that there wasn't going to be a lot of room outside the dimensions of a normal sized court.

Here's your answer: pbs.twimg.com/media/CIXdddjWgAAQh51.jpgBlueprint is too small to read specifics though, and unfortunately the architecture company JCJ only has a rendering of the alternate practice facility (which looks much cooler): www.jcj.com/sdsubasketballfacility

San Diego STATE of the Art!!! So awesome. So good for the program. Ir's such a testament to "if you win you can write your own ticket" If the Football team was as successful as the Basketball team has been, we would have a NEW STADIUM built for the Aztecs AND CHARGERS by now! Didn't our new basketball "stadium" precede out basketball success? If you want football success the stadium will need to come first. And it will need to be close to campus.
