Back at ya. Not sure what you can't comprehend about that statement? Pretty straight forward.
Anytime someone says "other than beating X, Y hasn't done much" it belittles the fact they accomplished the feat.
No it doesn't. As to the P-Bowl, BYU played the latter half of the fourth quarter like a soccer team protecting a one-goal lead with 15 minutes left before stoppage time. BYU's approach was boring as hell but you have to give them credit. If we managed to get the ball on their side of the 50 even once in the fourth quarter I don't remember it. I think we did once on a T/O but they sacked us out of FG range if memory serves.

Both in football and basketball going from s#!++y to pretty good is not so difficult. Going from pretty good to good and good to great is much more difficult. Aztec football is on a path to the class of MWC football and getting New Year's bowl games on occasion. They will get to the point where untimely injuries, bad calls, and single bad plays won't effect them as much.

2014 = 10-2 2015 = 13-0 They realize we have a great defense. We have a great running game. And they rightfully assume that Smith beating out Jake, doesn't necessarily mean that Jake got worse. Oh, and we have new play-callers. But we also still have Rocky Long, aka Mr. 7-9. 2014 = 10-2 2015 = 13-0 Rocky = D Anybody else = O and we'll be OK

And right about where we should be, rated as one the top 3 MWC schools. Until we prove that we are the class of the league this is about right.
Having said that, if we get play at QB similar to last year we will finish around 60 or 65 in the rankings. If we get play similar to QK two years ago then we finish around 40 to 45. If we get Top 25 or so play from our QB then we will finish with at least 10 wins and a final ranking in or around the Top 25.

La TECH #43. Can't believe we're coming in this high. We make the thirties, that'd be something. But, I question what a paper in Florida knows about SDSU that we don't. right on cue

Phil Steele's computers had us as the 49th best team. I'd say somewhere in the 42-49 range is very appropriate. Now let's go out and beat up some scrubs.

What I find most amazing/sad is that it was 80+ days ago that UNLV got its reveal.

Getting blown out in a game everybody and their brother expects to be a blowout is not disappointing, nor should it be. As an example, I've never been disappointed when our football team has gotten curb stomped at Ohio State. In contrast, gagging away a game in the fourth quarter against an opponent with no better talent on your home field as the Aztecs did against BYU in 2012 and against Navy in 2014 IS disappointing devastatingly unacceptable. Do I have my mind made up on that? Well, you haven't offered anything to dissuade me, that's for sure. FIFY Otherwise you are spot-on. I have said it before and will say it again. We lost to F'ing NAVY! The collective shrug and acceptance of this is remarkable. Yes, the win in Boise was nice, but the embarrassing losses that have occurred more than outweigh it.

Penn State #28 When's the last time someone favored us in 11 out of 12 games. NO excuses this year: no injuries, bad calls, arrests, weather or travel complications! 11-1 or at least 10-2 Anything less will be a huge disappointment.

Penn State comes in at 28. " If Penn State's offensive line improves, the Nittany Lions have a chance to make strides in the Big Ten."

I'll be at the MWC championship game vs. Boise. And, 9-3 will almost certainly get that done.
