I really enjoy the Sentinel's college football coverage pre-season. They seem to make an honest attempt to cover a wide array of the game. Anyway, they are one of the pubs that does a day-by-day reveal. I don't know whether to laugh or cry that MWC brethren is dead last. They can't get that new stadium soon enough (us too)... interactive.orlandosentinel.com/college-football-countdown/index.html

The Sentinel does indeed do a good job. One look at how many P5 teams they've already listed is evidence of their objectivity.

Wow..We have six projected teams in the bottom 30 in college football on our schedule. That doesn't include USD . Prediction 7-5 for SDSU this season.

Where did they rank our Aztecs ? Won't know until they reveal. 1 team a day until the day before the season starts, when they give us #1.

I was in Orlando about 15 years ago for a tradeshow in the fall. This was before all the print newspapers had truly cratered. I was at breakfast and picked up a copy of the Saturday Sentinel. I pulled out the sports section and was shocked that there wasn't a single mention of a single college football game. I remember thinking WTF?!? I went about reading the paper and later flipped open an entire section labeled College Football. It was bigger than the freaking regular sports section. Amazing. They had previews, profiles and write-ups of every single conference and just about every game in every conference. The next day, they had the same separate section with all the results and write-ups. I'd never seen anything like it. I can only think that Orlando sits in a hub within a college football crazy state. There's FSU, UF and UM, with lots of alums coming to Orlando for post-college jobs. There's also all the directional college schools with UCF in Orlando. In addition, they have a ton of SEC grads settling in Orlando, as well as visiting Orlando as a vacation destination. Whatever the case, they have the best college fball coverage of any daily paper in the U.S. Very cool.

I've heard Florida's educational system is pretty bad due to so many retirees moving there. They're rich, but don't want their taxes going to schools. More for social programs for older people. They're probably the reason they have so many golf courses and country clubs. It's funny; young tourists, old residents.

Countdown continues with Florida Gators ranked at 62. No sight of SDSU yet. Will they make it to the 50's?

What happened to the "...strive for top-25"? Or was it "Who cares about the top 25"? Maybe we all misunderstood our Daunted Ones.

Or maybe you are forgetting the RISE portion of the rise to 25...or do objects simply appear above head without transiting the in between? I guess at least we should be happy you don't hold all your venom in on yourself and slowly waste away at your computer chair.

Well, since we already reached 27 in the polls BEFORE Rocky slouched into the HC slot, we can do nothing---with this current cluster of pretenders---except continue gazing at the stars and praying.
