I would like to bring Hemsley along slowly. He's a freshman so him being the backup Lead ball handler is a much better role for him to start off the year. I also expect a huge improvement in Trey Kell so him losing his starting spot won't happen IMO. Either way, next years team should be a lot of fun to watch You would like to bring him along slowly because you don't think he is ready. You don't think he is ready because of other Aztec freshmen. Hemsley is rated higher than any other Aztec guard recruit in history. So look outside the Aztecs for a comparison. There have been many guards that came in ready to roll. I would like to bring him along slowly because I don't believe he's needed as a starter right now. No matter how good you are coming out of high school, college ball is different and you will need to adjust. The same adjustments we saw Trey Kell have to go through last year. I would much rather have Trey Kell as my leading guard right now This really comes down to what freshman would you rather have in the starting line up, Hemsley or Cheatham. Out of those two choices, I would prefer Zylan. We as fans have to stop looking at ESPN ratings and expecting great things from 18 year olds right out the box. That only leads to having extremely high expectations, which is followed up by unfair criticism

Schools like Kentucky and Duke get them but part of that is that the other players are such high level talent that it seems to make it easier.

That is where the initial roles will be determined. Early games will refine those roles. The coaches don't know now so I will just give my guess and leave it at that.

Maturity to the nth degree . Had a choice jump to the NBA , pressure to join your HS team mates in the NBA, or come back with a definite purpose for both himself and His team . He knows he has a lot to prove to himself , and fans . Can we now agree to give him an opportunity to see what he can do as a leader for our Aztecs . Little doubt we are going to need Winston at his best to make a solid run in MM . Not shred him as he is going to miss jump shots or lay ups, TO ... . Appreciate the rebounds , play on D , draw fouls , passes , alley oops , .... Thank you Mr. Winston . Looking forward to your senior season as an Aztec . Introduction as part of the starting 5. Seeing your family on Senior night . and all other parts of the Aztec BB activities . IMO the one thing Shepard needs is consistency with his shots in the paint. If he nails those then I can see him being a #1 draft choice. Supposedly he worked hard on those shots before last season, but didn't show much improvement. Hopefully the JAMC enter will be the antidote.

Same message to all the guys FINISH what you start . If you take a shot , make sure it is a good one , one that you take with authority , if you do miss then follow the shot and put in the rebound . the name of the game is as Coach Fisher says " score the basketball "
