Nice dig. I really hope Winston goes out and becomes a lottery pick next season. He was going to be an analist for ESPN but realized that takes no talent #weren't you Roseanne's husband?

Welcome back? Where did Shep go? I don't see what all the hype is about. I don't see Shep as an NBA player in the slightest. I hope he can make some shots next year and play like he wants to be in the association. Of course you were one of those who said JF wouldn't be able to play in the association either so there's that...

Looking forward to an exciting ride, another banner or two, and at least one win in the NCAA tournament.
We are blessed Aztec fans.
Returning: Winston. Skylar. Pope. Chol. Shrigley. Kell. Allen. DW.
Excited to see Z.
Plus, whatever we get from new additions like JH & Buddha. Their impact could be significant.
It really seems like there will be minutes and opportunities for all of the above.
It will all come down to chemistry, as the talent is there.

Great news for us. Read this article in the Union Trib. Sounds like we may have the Winston we have always wanted next year. Union Trib Link

Best news of the off-season! My man is coming back. Welcome home, Shep!! Started humming this redemptive theme song as soon as I heard the news -- and he's gonna make it right...

Great UT article. Sounds very mature, especially acknowledging all the things he needs to work on. Like I've said since WS3 arrived on the Mesa, if he could just develop a really good pull-up J from about 15 feet, increase his 3-pt. shooting by about 5 to 10 pts., and increase his FT shooting to 70%, he would have a very scary overall game. Could do some real damage. Let's see if he can make that jump in the offseason. Can't wait. And, oh, BTW, his defense, IMO, is among the best in the country. Very underrated aspect of his game.

This is great news for the team. A focused Winston is a dangerous Winston... for other teams. A starting 5 of Winston, Sky, Pope plus any variation of Hemsley, Kell or Shrigs is pretty nasty. Having Z redshirt is virtually like having another 4 star recruit alongside Hemsley and Buddah. Having a focused Winston is like having that senior transfer come onto the team except he already knows the system and defense. Win win situation I think. Whether Dakarai comes back or not (I hope he does), we really should only go 8 or 9 deep when you include Chol. Playing 10 guys would be great but we saw how ineffective that was.. we're not Kentucky here.

www.utsandiego.com/news/2015/apr/23/sdsu-basketball-winston-shepard-return-senior/2/?#article-copy“I have a chance to be part of something that can really, really be special, whatever special is... I’m not going to make any promises or anything. I’m not saying Final Four. I’m not saying champion. I’m just saying we have a chance to be truly special." "I think this has a chance to be the best team that I’ve been on here. That was a little bit too much for me to pass up." “I believe I’ll be able to play in the NBA. But the most important thing is, when I go to the NBA I want to be able to stay in the NBA. I know. I’m real. I looked in the mirror and said, ‘There are things you have to get better at – free throw shooting, consistently finishing.’ If I can tighten some of those things up, coupled with my demeanor and things like that, I have a great chance to continue to grow." “I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am, I just feel like I have unfinished business at the college level.” “Come on, let’s just call it what it is, we got mopped off the floor. As a competitor, that doesn’t sit well with me. I’ve had a bad taste in my mouth. I’ve been in the gym ever since. I can’t wait until that first game.” Hey... Remember when people were asking, in all seriousness, whether Shep could dunk?

Im going to miss seeing Polee play. He was graceful, acrobatic and had a good stroke with his jumper.

Shep, take a 1,000 shots per day over the summer and dump the finger roll, stuff it! Glad to see you back.

The starting 5 Shep, Pope, Sky, Shrigs and Hemsley. .Next 5 Kell, Z, Chol, Allen and DW. Strong 10 on both sides of the ball.

I think with the added minutes from Malik, an increase in production from Kell on the offensive end at the SG position, the addition of Hemsley and Shepard will have a much better year. If he can get his free throws over 70%, lift his FG % a couple by easy put backs, grab around 8 boards a game and get his 3% over 30% he'll be a huge player for us next year. He can honestly be the 3rd or 4th option on the offensive end which will make him a better player.
Man is it going to be fun to watch Winston, Malik and Zylan all on the court at the same time.

Just like Valvano hugged Whittenberg after each win on the way to the NCAA championship, Shepard is the time out hugger for Fisher. Winston has too many hugs left to give than to leave earlier. He has unfinished hugging to do.

Great news. Get that degree, and continue to improve. I liked his quotes, sounds like reasonable thoughts, and critical logic of self.
