I am not a fan of the Democrats' desire to spend more and more taxpayers' money on dubious projects, but spending that money on an S.D.S.U. West Campus in Mission Valley seems like a good deal to me. AzWm So instead of deleting aztecfan1’s post and the two others that followed it...you add more political crap to the main forum? There's a reason 99% of us stay off the political forum...we'd prefer not to know who the idiots are (in our own opinions). Please tell me you at least understand why most of us would like new people to run this forum.

Senator Marty Block Continues to Advocate for SDSU www.thedailyaztec.com/65404/news/senator-says-sdsu-should-take-over-qualcomm-stadium/“We’re a long way from this being a completed project, but if we don’t start thinking about it, it won’t even be on the table when the time comes,” Block said. SDSU Chief of Communications Greg Block said that although acquiring the Qualcomm space is hypothetical at the moment, SDSU would consider the idea. “Whenever there is a possibility that San Diego State University could expand the campus and thereby our ability to serve our students and our community, it is worth exploring,” Greg Block said. Still utter lack of commitment, candor, or substance from our pusillanimous "leaders" and their spokeshole. "If the Russians abandon their space station, could SDSU consider it for a "northern" campus?" Spokeshole, "Sure, why not?"

Their own, not everyone else's. Seriously? hook, line, sinker... Obviously I realize it's called the republican party, not the republic party if that's what you're referring to. I was just answering the question

Look look, the generation that had a government which provided far more spending on education in their day are deriding the chance that we might spend on education today. God forbid the state and city make further investment in the State school with the highest profile that also provides a cheaper alternative to more expensive UC and private schools. If you're a baby boomer and you're hating on this I just laugh at your generations rampant hypocrisy.

I have to put the spaces in there because Comrad A-P-E has blocked the domain from being written on this website. I also have to hyphen out A-p-e because has has it autocorrect to AztecPantherErik. I like A-P-E so much better.

It's a Faux News buzzword meant to demean the party they despise. I think it's funny as hell to hear. No better example of Faux's "fair and balanced" reporting. It does irk the conservatives to no end to hear the juxtaposition of the small "d" word "democratic" as a concept and used often in our democracy and to describe the United States ideal of a democratic form of government with the big "D" word "Democratic" as in a party affiliation with a more progressive or moderate stance. It's a form of angst on the part of the conservatives, especially when you consider the big "R" word "Republicans" took their name from the small "r" word "republic" a concept to describe a representative form of government, which was later co-opted by the big "C" word Communists to describe their countries (USSR). As if that wasn't bad enough -- the alternate name for the conservatives is G.O.P., which stands for Grand Old Party which seems to conjure images of aged curmudgeons out of step with the times. So yeah, there is a concerted effort to try and make their opposition seem awkward by making their name sound awkward. Branding you know ... The US is a republic.

That is true, but what we shop around to the rest of the world is "democracy" and "democratically" elected officials ... go figure EDIT: if you really want to twist some minds -- The Democratic-Republican Party was formed by Thomas Jefferson and others who believed in an agrarian-based, decentralized, democratic government. The party was established to oppose the Federalists who had supported and pushed through the ratification of the US Constitution.

You do know that the United States is NOT a true democracy...but in reality it is a republic... A democracy is where everyone votes on every law... A republic is where we vote to elect representatives to create laws and vote on our behalf... Just saying... We need to get back to sports...
