Senator Marty Block Continues to Advocate for SDSU www.thedailyaztec.com/65404/news/senator-says-sdsu-should-take-over-qualcomm-stadium/“We’re a long way from this being a completed project, but if we don’t start thinking about it, it won’t even be on the table when the time comes,” Block said. SDSU Chief of Communications Greg Block said that although acquiring the Qualcomm space is hypothetical at the moment, SDSU would consider the idea. “Whenever there is a possibility that San Diego State University could expand the campus and thereby our ability to serve our students and our community, it is worth exploring,” Greg Block said.

Marty Block was one of the original psotters on Aztec Talk. He would psot early and often. But then he went into politics and had to get all serious.

Can we get someone to veto this guy for wanting to start a Democrat vs Republican fight on this board? Tacky, tacky, tacky (and not entirely accurate).

Shame on him for not knowing that tax money is only allowed to subsidize private companies .... Speaking of which, have you heard that a Dem and a Rep from the House oversight committee have sent a letter to the NFL questioning their tax-exempt 501C(6) non-profit status? A long-time sticking point for Washington, House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) sent a letter late Wednesday to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell saying that the committee is reviewing the tax-exempt status enjoyed by the NFL and 10 other sports leagues and associations.
Some of the other leagues that also received a letter include the NHL, various golf and tennis associations, and, yes, even the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.
In his letter, which was co-signed by Ranking Member Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), Chaffetz requested that the NFL send more information regarding its tax-exempt status no later than April 3. In addition to the documentation that granted the league such exemption, Chaffetz asked for other details including whether the NFL "has considered voluntarily abandoning its 501(c)(6) status".

I am not a fan of the Democrats' desire to spend more and more taxpayers' money on dubious projects, but spending that money on an S.D.S.U. West Campus in Mission Valley seems like a good deal to me.

Like the idea of SDSU taking over the Q site. One way to make sure nothing gets done is to drive a wedge between folks.

Relax, this is just one guy named Block getting another guy named Block to help him get his name in print. Neither one of them can contribute anything to the process except an opinion.

It's a Faux News buzzword meant to demean the party they despise. I think it's funny as hell to hear. No better example of Faux's "fair and balanced" reporting.

There is no such thing as the DEMOCRAT party. Educate yourself before you comment. It's a Faux News buzzword meant to demean the party they despise. I think it's funny as hell to hear. No better example of Faux's "fair and balanced" reporting. It does irk the conservatives to no end to hear the juxtaposition of the small "d" word "democratic" as a concept and used often in our democracy and to describe the United States ideal of a democratic form of government with the big "D" word "Democratic" as in a party affiliation with a more progressive or moderate stance. It's a form of angst on the part of the conservatives, especially when you consider the big "R" word "Republicans" took their name from the small "r" word "republic" a concept to describe a representative form of government, which was later co-opted by the big "C" word Communists to describe their countries (USSR). As if that wasn't bad enough -- the alternate name for the conservatives is G.O.P., which stands for Grand Old Party which seems to conjure images of aged curmudgeons out of step with the times. So yeah, there is a concerted effort to try and make their opposition seem awkward by making their name sound awkward. Branding you know ...
