I saw Zach in the concourse at the game today, unfortunately not only did we lose, but we looked like dog $#!+ in the process. Our chances of landing him lie squarely on his relationship with the coaches at this point, I fear. I have faith, but watching knock out/drag out basketball like this afternoon isn't the most enticing tjing ever. I do not think 1 game has much of a effect on a kid like Zach, a season like UNM has put them out of the running if they were ever seriously considered, Zach and his dad are not going to overreact to 1 game. Now if we make a big tourney run like to elite 8, maybe that changes things for Zach but I doubt today had much a effect one way or another.

First it is a good sign that he cared to come watch the game in person . Was he also at the WCC games that Gonzaga , or Utah in the PAC played ? Still think it is where he thinks will be the best style for his game and the coaching staff . with Utah losing to Oregon, Gonzaga could be seeded higher then Utah . and they do have an offense that uses their centers to score .

yes Utah does use their center/5 as an important part of their offense , but what Aztec center/5 has averaged 10 points a game M.Thomas ? Before that who ?

Which Aztec center was capable of averaging in double figures? That is so true. Something Collins should consider.

Before that who ?Malcolm Thomas 2010-2011 11.4 points per game. Malcolm Thomas 2009-2010 10.9 points per game. Ryan Amoroso 2007-2008 11.4 points per game. Jerome Habel 2006-2007 10.9 points per game. Marcus Slaughter 2005-2006 16.5 points per game. Marcus Slaughter 2004-2005 17.8 points per game. Aerick Sanders 2003-2004 16.1 points per game. Mike Mackell 2002-2003 14.4 points per game. Randy Holcomb 2001-2002 16.9 points per game. Marcelo Correa 1999-2000 10.2 points per game. It is easier to just list the years that a center didn't average double digits.

thank you Bill . That is what I was trying to point out , we have not had that much luck , recruiting center/5 and involving them in the offense . Not easy especially when Kentucky usually has about 3 on their roster many years . Would be helpful if SS/ AC are more involved next year . Not sure where the coaches see BJ playing next year ? Share PF with ZC ?

Abukar was 6'10" 220. As a senior he averaged 14.3 ppg and 4.7 rebounds. He wasn't a traditional 5, but then there aren't too many of those anymore.

Saw that one coming, his girl just got a scholarship to play WBB at Montana. The Holy Crap moment for me is to see that the Zags have 3 open Schollys for 2015 and 4 open spots in 2016 and their recruit list is identical to ours!
Most guys would rather be by the beach versus freezing in the cascade mountains. We need a commitment from Narain and Cage, quickly.

Time to go after Jeter & Zimmerman harder.

Jeter is set to go to Duke , believe Duke has done a good job of prepping their current freshman C for the NBA - Zimmerman is being recruited and has visited Arizona , Kansas, Kentucky, NC and UCLA , plus unofficial to UNLV . So do not think we get him .
Do see if we can convince Cage that if he comes here ,he will be a guy similar to JJ , have the offense run through him , that adding a player similar to NN at the C/5 would provide a solid front line to go with ZC and BJ .
