I think Shrigley has played in 5 games so far this year. Not exactly a large sample size.
I like seeing him on the court. His shot will come around, (and the same with Polee.)

Shrigley averages 17.5 minutes per game . He has the lowest PPG for any player playing at least 12 minutes , lowest Shooting average 20% , lowest 3 PT AVG 25% ( Zabo is 40% ) Lowest for Rebs , Lowest for Steals . Other guys who have a lot more upside Zabo , Kell , Pope , Allen , Williams deserve the same opportunity . If he was not a Fisher Favorite he would be near the end of the bench .
First there is no need to be taking that many threes in games when our inside attack is playing well , we even shot 53% against CINCY . We are very athletic use that skill over the set shooting . He is one dimensional . who else can shoot as well maybe AQ , Kell , Polee , Zabo , Pope if he can get in the groove . We want Scorers not just shooters , learn to score and put points on the board , we do not get that many possessions so each one needs to count . We played Ball State , he committed 4 fouls , because he is a step slow on D . Nice local guy but the stats just prove he does not deserve the time he gets or the shots . We need to give more PT to the other reserves .

Shrigs played his way into playing time last year
He is now playing his way out of playing time this year
I rather have Allen in the game. If both aren't going to make any outside shots, at least Allen takes it to the hole and plays great D.

Should we use his high school games? He's been a disappointment so far this year. Hopefully his shot will come around and he can contribute a little more

With our offense having the struggles it's been having I think hes valuable to be on the court. Even if his shots aren't falling, they have the potential to go in every time he shoots (you can tell just by looking at his shot he's a good shooter)... I'd much rather him shoot a 3 than any other person on this team. He's not a huge liability on defense either, since he's an athletic 6'5 or 6'6 and stays in front of his man pretty well; though he has his lapses now and then.
That being said, I'm also not so sure he should have a surplus of minutes either... I just disagree with the OP saying he should be at the end of the bench

If there is an 8 or maybe 9 man rotation then PT minutes will be hard to come by . Last year He was the first guy in as a reserve , then both Polee and AQ moved ahead of him , Allen was more noted for his D , so Shrigley was number 3 sub . We have shooters that as good- AQ, Zabo, Kell , Pope , and are not getting the PT - they deserve the opportunity . IMO the other guys have more upside to helping the team , this year and going forward . Allen is stellar on D , can really take it to the hoop , hit the boards plus does not think he has to shoot threes . Zabo is a creative PG that can also shoot , we need help at PG . Pope is rusty but can create a wide variety of shots , has height that we need on the boards and block shots .He needs PT . So we wait for Shrigley to gain his shooting stroke , when we should be going to the basket , do not think so . I do not think we gain enough over the course of the game to have Shrigley , Polee and others launching up threes , when our stress should be moving the ball, moving to get open and creating easy shots , going to the basket. Would prefer we include Spencer and others in the offense . Also look how many times we shoot threes and do not have a good opportunity to get a rebound .Play smarter on offense .

Speaking of local talent who can shoot and score, why isn't Johnny Dee playing for the Aztecs? Fisher, et al didn't even recruit him?

I think Shrigs were given the opportunity to score in other ways (rather than just setting up for the 3) his jump shot would come around. It is difficult to just wait for your wide open shot in the corner when you aren't really involved in the flow of the offense. I remember (I know I'm old) Jeff Mullins who was a guard for The Warriors. He was a deadly pull up jump shooter (Ie. when he got a bounce pass) but didn't shoot nearly as well when shooting from a static position. Chris Mullin I think you're referrring to? That dude could shoot the lights out from any position from what I remember. But I agree that Shrigs is more than a spot up shooter. I think he could/should be seen as a scorer.

Speaking of local talent, why isn't Johnny Dee playing for the Aztecs? Fisher, et all didn't even recruit him? Because he couldn't guard and play defense the way Fish wants to (ie, switching). He could not switch to guard someone who is 6'7" and be able to defend him. But the kid could sure shoot! I think I probably would take the trade off. But that's me and why I don't have a coaching job in D1 basketball! haha

Fisher is giving Shrigley the chance to prove he should play. Who else is a shooter?
Not Spencer, Chol, Allen. Winston and JJ are going to play, so who else? AQ can play, but needs to get healthy.
Pope has been lost on the court. Missed many defensive assignments, and not shooting well. He has not played for two years and it shows. He will be better, but not right now.
Zabo is having a hard time. He is a freshmen, and not in the rotation of 8 when AQ can play.
Kell can hit the deep 3 from his spot. Not a scorer at this point.
So here it is, Polee and Shrigley, both playing without confidence, but still shooting. We need them both to get hot, but at least one would help.

I don't know about all those other guys you mentioned, but D'Erryl Williams is shooting 100% from behind the arc this season...dude's been lights out.

At some point down the road we will need some shooters. It may be Polee, Pope or Shriggs but that's pretty much the list of 3 point shooters. Now is the time to blow out some of these weaker teams and let those guys shoot, shoot ,shoot so they can get into a rythem. Zabo has shown he can hit them too. Kell's jumper is a huge disappointment so far though... I don't like the form at all either. Hopefully it'll start to work for him Zabo has a higher 3P%, but he's only taken 10 of them. Kell has the higher TS%.
