Exactly! Love JJ. He sometimes is mis-judged because he does the grinding work that doesn't make the highlight reel. And he does it day in - day out. The most important player for sure. [be. The lap dog performed well against ball state, what about Washington and concinatti? ??). The so called Jj banshees see what this team could be, not satisfied with beating the Ball states of the world.

For the JJ detractors on this board(and you know who you are) solid game for him last night. Thirteen points, six rebounds. Nice "lapdog" to have on your team. Another solid performance for our starting "power" forward, the almighty glue guy. 28 min, ZERO points, 3 rbs. But he really glues like no other tho.

Be careful or you'll be labelled a ridiculous fan because we're not Fisher apologists. Fisher just cannot be questioned. Dude is god.

How dare we critique a coaching staff and group of underachievers playing horribly on the court in what was supposed to be the "deepest" and most "talented" squad to ever set foot on the mesa. Especially with all of the success we've experienced with the other supposed "inferior" Aztecs teams over the past 6 years. This team can do no wrong and "we'll be fine."

You do have to admit that the glue guy would fit in perfectly in a high stakes poker game with his array of expression's he displays though.....

As bad as it sounds, I'm actually starting to dread seeing JJ in the starting lineup. Same goes for Spencer, unfortunately. Regarding JJ, I admire his character and cool demeanor on the court, but I think coach's love affair with him is wearing thin. I just don't know how a guy can go from 13 points to zero points on what seems to be a fairly consistent basis. The rate at which the Aztecs miss high-percentage shots is ridiculous. We have no finishers around the rim, and this includes our glue guy. Granted, all of our "big" men have trouble finishing in the paint (this includes Chol), but for a guy like JJ that plays the minutes that he does, to average less than 10 points a game is a little ridiculous I think. Spare me the "if it wasn't for JJ's putback in game XX, we lose" argument. Every player has a game like that (heck, if it wasn't for Spencer's defense, and especially his offense, we probably lose at Kansas last year). I'm not expecting the guy to be like Thames, but man, a little offense would be nice. I've said it before, but just once (ok, maybe twice), I'd like to see the staff recruit a shooter...not an uber-athletic guy that can win dunk contests, but a guy that can shoot. Just plain shoot.

You mean a BYU style guy. Never gonna happen. Fish hates shooters.
