We've inherited plenty of t-shirt fans that know nothing about the sport, and expect perfection and immediate gratification. The price of success I suppose.

I don't think his overall game isnt appreciated, just the fact that he has such a hard time with "easy" shots. I know that no shot is really that easy at this level, but when a guy is always missing layups, and put backs, fans are going to get frustrated. that is all.

It seems like our entire team has issues with "easy" shots. Yes, he missed some. He didn't miss them at the end, and that inbounds adjustment with 3 sec in the clock was amazing, and critical.

JJ is great. I would love to see him become the leader and personality of this team.

O.K. this a second thread on the JJ subject so I'm locking the other one. I'm sure this one will attract attention.

People are making way too big of a deal of the bryce jones thing, so he has weed and smokes it like probably half our team does, so what?

Seems like JJ has been better about finishing on easy shots this season, but in his haters' eyes he hasn't. He's still missed a couple easy ones but overall I think that issue is improved

Just ask USC, UNLV, and now ISU. He isn't a freshman anymore. Bryce smokes, that is a part of his personal life, but when it affects the team it becomes an issue.

JJ is somewhere in between the greatest player that SDSU has ever had and the worst basketball player SDSU has ever had.

Yes JJ did do well at the end of the game against a team that had little in the way of a front court, after having a poor performance in Washington . I hope he does well in the game at Cincy . He still needs to learn to FINISH strongly in a crowd , but lacks the hops . Would have been nice if he made both FT's and ice at least a tie or win , he did not and we came close to losing the game on that last shot that bounced off the rim.

Anyone who dislikes JJ's game is crazy, but any one can also see that he (and Winston) have trouble finishing the kinds of up-close shots most basketball players make easily. Both JJ and Winston are exceptionally good at making moves toward the basket. I have observed each guy use hesitation moves, quick lateral movement, spins, etc. etc. all at the highest level of skill--only to miss the finish. It's extremely frustrating to watch. If JJ and Winston finished strong consistently, this team would be a beast.

The guy misses alot of easy lay ups, not a very good rebounder for a PF, and disapears in big games. Look at all of our losses the last two years and they all have the same trend. Less than 4pts and five rebounds. For someone that plays 35 plus minutes you expect more production. They guy in is the jack of no trades. Doesnt do any thing exceptionally well. The guy shows no emotion and towards the end of the game vs long beach he was affraid to shoot.
On a positive note, JJ is a good player vs lower competition. The guy looks more relax and I imagine he is the same way in practice. Nothing personal against him.. Just to stop calling him the glue guy because he is far from it.

Talk to Coach Fisher and he'll disagree with you on this. Just sayin.

If this isn't a personal, nothing to do with basketball criticism, I don't know what is. The guy in your avatar does not show a whole lot of emotion either btw.

There isn't anyone on this board that has observed JJ as much as Fisher has. There isn't anyone on this board who knows as much about Aztec Basketball as Fisher does. If Fisher says that JJ is 'the man' then JJ is the man. Has JJ missed what looks like easy shots to fans sitting in their chairs? Sure. For this team with the personnel available JJ is the player who our coach chooses to give the most minutes to. Good enough for me.
