35,686 or 35,868 or whatever according to Leonard's article.

half the students that show up couldn't care less about the game, and have no idea what they're cheering for when something good happens...hell, more than half. Foolish comment.

After seeing the crowd I googled "sky show 2014" and was shocked to find out that it's not tonight. No giveaway either. So the good crowd is due to? a). Increased public awareness of football's relative success b). large Hawaii contingent c). 7:30 start time Family night. Not sure what that entailed but it helped. Great crowd. Nearly 36k.

There's a pretty good Hawaii crowd here to help. If there was a large Hawaii contingent, they were very quiet all night.

Not sure what that entailed but it helped. Great crowd. Nearly 36k. There was a pretty big giveaway. The Aztecs sent a large number (>5,000) tix to the County Office of Education to disperse to schools. It's been on the radar since last month. Not completely sure if parents AND kids got tix. Because of NCAA recruiting rules, I think only K-8 kids/families got the tix.

For a late start, there were many students at the game. They left early, but so did many other "fans".

Just think what this crowd would look like in our new 40k seat stadium... And wasnt the attendence at Oregon State around 40k and it looked like the freaking super bowl.

For me and some others I know, the 7:30 start time helped.

It was a nice turnout. I went into the game with 4 extra (pretty good) tickets in my pocket because I couldn't find anyone who wanted them. Even walking around outside of the stadium I couldn't find anyone looking. (That wasn't an Hawaii fan)
I do think Hawaii had a good turnout. Parent weekend on campus totally helped. For all the whining about the marketing department on this board, gotta give them credit.

One of the tickets I cashed in tonight. I'm extremely proud of the players on field effort this evening. And a win is a win and, more important for me anyway, a cover is a cover. That said, with all due respect, though I see Coach Long as a decent coach, under his leadership this program SO belongs in the MW.

It's tough to draw a huge crowd when we play @ Chapel Hill, @ Corvallis, @ Fresno, @ Reno and @ Boise this fall. We get the lesser games at Home.

Foolish comment. next game, why don't you go ask the sorority girls what our record and conference standings are...and who our running backs are...or how many downs an offense gets to convert...etc.

Gladly. Right after I thank them for showing up.
Pretty good crowd last night. Hawaii had some fans there, which was good to see. Next game is Homecoming and SkyShow so a large crowd will be on hand to watch the Aztecs curb-stomp Idaho.

I was surprised to see the crowd starting with the parking lot. Pleasantly surprised.

People leaving at halftime isn't only an SDSU occurrence. I went to the USC game yesterday and after halftime about 40% of the crowd had left.

I parked in J lot, saw a large contingent of fans getting of the trolley. Yep, good crowd. Most since the Sky Show. I was in Plaza section 25, lots of families with kids. Everyone was into the game, making noise on 3rd downs and Defense.
Oldie Out

The University of Houston just built one of those stadiums this year with room to expand to 60,000 down the road for $120 mil... Yeah it would be nice to have an on campus stadium...
