Well, the competition for quickly rising sophomore Jaylen Hands from Mater Dei in Chula Vista has just been brought up another notch, and while SDSU was one if the first schools to offer, Sean Miller has just extended a scholarship offer, and UCLA did the same a few weeks earlier along with a host of others. Going to be tough to keep this kid local. The talent pool in SD is for the next few years is higher than it's been in a long time, and we need to find a way to land one or two of these elite prospects.

good player... but what happens when dad isnt the coach anymore to run all the plays to him.
Wants to attend a University where he will be able to make a contribution his first year with the program.

Well, just hire the dad as an Asst. Coach. Everyone else is doing it to get their kid to go to that school.

Watch this new mix tape of Jaylen Hands, I would love to this kid the run the point as soon as possible. He has offers from the Aztecs, UCLA, USC, CAL, Zona, ASU and even USD. U Dub and Gonzaga are on the trail too. 4-stars, a local kid with a little Chris Paul inside him. www.courtsidefilms.com/news_article/show/503224?referrer_id=1227615

With heir apparent Jeremy Hemsley coming in to play Point Guard and if he is good as the coaches think, Jaylen Hands would get limited playing time as he is a Point Guard also. If Hands is as good as #26 and #4 Point Guard, he is gonna want to play major minutes.......All this is about if,could, would but he is going to want to play major minutes his freshman year....I don't see him coming here unless Hemsley falls flat on his face......Just My Opinion

^^ Plus Hemsley is a combo guard that plays point... No problem running a back court of Hands and Hemsley if JH stays around that long.

Bring in the best players we can, let them compete and play the best 5 the most.

It's a good strategy to offer local guys. It definitely doesn't hurt, they either want to stay local or they don't.
It's probably our best chance of getting truly elite talent 5* guys.

Do not think we have been able to get a local 5* star recruit , lately most go to Arizona , Chase B , Leaf .

UCLA has two 5 star PGs, Aaron Holiday is a Freshman (Jru's brother) and Lonzo Ball another 5-star PG coming in 2016. And today his little brother LiAngelo Ball committed to UCLA. That's a crowded back court and full of star brothers.

We can't be possibly recruiting Jaylen Hands....that would be two JHs on the same team (Jeremy Helmsley being the other) ...how could posters who only use initials to describe a player possibly keep everything straight?
I say pass on this guy (or any other guy with the initials "JH") until Helmsley graduates...

I'm not certain that a Hands off policy is the best thing for the Aztecs going forward.

That's a crowded back court and full of star brothers. And they have a brother in the 8th grade that is going to UCLA as well per his Dad. The question will be who will still be there when Hands graduates. The eldest Ball is suppose to be a one and done player.
