Losing Quinn,Largent, Foley,Ezell is not going to stop the Rocky bashers, they will be gleeful if we lose raining down the retread threads we ought to be in the Big 12, Sterk is jerk,Rocky is senile ,Toledo over the hill. If we so win it will only be because we are in the terrible Mountain West and should be a P5 team if we had a good coach. Post of the year!

I'm confused. Are you thanking the lord for Quinn's injury or is this one of those "He works in mysterious ways" thank you's? Either way, your screen name seems appropriate. I usually avoid this board after a loss because of the sh!tty things said about young men doing their level best to honorably represent the University . I guess I'll have to think twice about coming in here after a win now. Some people on here have lost all perspective.

Not going to be easy for a freshman ,who has not taken many snaps . Would guess with a short week Aztecs keep their current system , with run/pass offense . QK was primarily successful with his short passes , something that Bawden should be able to handle . He also has better wheels then QK so maybe a little more runs by the QB . Aztecs are not sure what they will get with Bawden but he did attend Spring Ball , beat out others . Could be a game where the team rallies around the freshman . Would the Aztecs move Chase back to QB to back him up,or go with another freshman QB ? Prepare him for the noise at Fresno - they will want to rattle our QB. Fresno defense did play a strong second half at Lobo land . Also does Fresno know what exactly what to expect from Bawden ?

I only saw Bawden a couple of times in scrimmage and was impressed the weay he hung in there under tremendous pressure. He has a real rhythm with Paul Pitts and seems to hit him on long strikes a lot. Maybe we will see Paul in there a few times,or deep routes ot Larry Clark..It is good that we had that bye when we did ahnd they used on week for scrimmage with the backups. Rocky and Toledo say thye will run the same thing they have been running but design it for Bawden strengths. There has been a big frop of in production when DJ leaves the game and Chase comes in. Not that Chase does not run hard, but with the defense less worried about the pass there not getting the gaps for running. Off course Chase doe snot have the spped DJ doies to exploit a small opening. Also youhave to hit Chase high or you get turf breath low, thye have been hitting him high and stopping his progress. Last week he averaged 2.6 yards a carry. Can not have that kind of drop off. We have to find another way to get him some space. We seem really poor at completing the screens why I do not know. Maybe it is the speed the ball get out is not fast enough. They are vital to help stopping the pass rush. We are going to see more and already have of Dakota Gordon carrying the ball. He is a good power runner. Establishing the fullback as a quick hit threat makes it easier to get some outside runs. I sure would like to see Penny in on a few plays other than kickoffs.
It interests me that many teams and have completely gotten away from the power sweep. It is one of the great a mainstays of football, the old Student body right. Kush, McKay,Lombardi they lived by it. It's made for DJ I think. Maybe its because the trend is to go to giant olineman who cant run? (maybe except to the buffet) The other thing that goes with that is the bootleg. Of course Quinn is not going to bootleg, but Bawden can. The you drag the tight end across and if you get the motion going the other way you can get some yards. The Fresno game will not be a blow out because Burrell can run as well as the last QB we just played and unless we get containment the bullfrogs will move the ball. He also was very accurate against woeful New Mexico.

feeling like this game isn't going to end well. Not what I thought at the beginning of the season. this season has already been a bit of a letdown for me, what with the losses to both UNC and OSU. The hump is only getting higher. If this kids shows some promise, that may make up for a bit of it. I'm with Mr. Poeple. IMO there's no reason that even with Kaehler out we shouldn't go 5-3 down the stretch and play in another bowl game. In the meantime, Bawden will get what should be valuable experience for our breakout year in 2015 or 2016.

I think that this is realistic no team in the conference will go undefeated in conference I suspect one of those three way ties in the west with three teams having one loss. If we can get by Fresburg, Bawden can get some experience by the time we hit Nevada and Boise. There is not way Quinn will be back for at least three weeks. Nevada had its hands full with San Jose

This is a pretty young team and Bawden represents their future too, so I truly feel they're going to play with renewed vigor. I like our chances on Friday.

Guys, we will dominate Fresno State in the same way that we dominated UNLV. Fresno will put up yards, and some points, but the game will not be in doubt after the 2nd Quarter. Earmarked

If any other team complains about injury issues, they better have their top 4 or 5 guys out like us. This has been brutal this year with top guys going down. Funny thing is I still feel good about our chances the next few weeks as long as DP stays healthy. This. We are beat UP

This is great news! I am very excited to see what the kid can do under center. I have a real good feeling.
I just went from being so-so about the game to counting down the hours to kickoff....pumped.

As stated time for the team to rally around the freshman QB , OL needs to make this game a definitive statement . Game will be one or lost by what team controls the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball .
QB , since a few other guys stepped up at WR - would it be a time to move Chase back to QB ? He knows the system better then Chapman . Although they could also use him on end around and throw
