Short week. True freshman starting at quarterback. Playing without their defensive leader.
Lots of people gonna have to step up.

What is it with us and quarterbacks the last few years. Was Lindley ever injured? If so, I don't recall it.

feeling like this game isn't going to end well. Not what I thought at the beginning of the season.

feeling like this game isn't going to end well. Not what I thought at the beginning of the season. this season has already been a bit of a letdown for me, what with the losses to both UNC and OSU. The hump is only getting higher. If this kids shows some promise, that may make up for a bit of it.

feeling like this game isn't going to end well. Not what I thought at the beginning of the season. I actually have a very positive feeling. I think Bawden is going to do very well. I re-read this article that LA Aztec posted in the other thread. Now, I know that the QB coach quoted in the article is a little biased, but this intrigues me: "He reminds me a little bit of Brett Favre," Clarkson said in an interview with the U-T this summer. "He's got a really strong arm, he's a great athlete and he brings a great physical presence to the game.
"His ability to break down fronts and coverages are above what normal kids have going into their freshman year, and he's certainly ahead of the curve."
Clarkson also highlighted Bawden's mental toughness -- "he just doesn't get flustered" -- as a huge strength.
"He's a natural born leader," Clarkson said. "There's a thing I like to call the 'it factor.' You can't teach it, but you know it's there. Nick brings that to the table. SDSU is very fortunate to get him. www.utsandiego.com/news/2014/aug/11/aztecs-nick-bawden-chosen-quarterback-of-future/Combined with him graduating HS early to spend last Spring on campus and practicing with the team, but that he beat out all the other for the backup job... yeah, I think this could turn out okay. Even much better than okay.

Guys, we will dominate Fresno State in the same way that we dominated UNLV. Fresno will put up yards, and some points, but the game will not be in doubt after the 2nd Quarter.

If any other team complains about injury issues, they better have their top 4 or 5 guys out like us. This has been brutal this year with top guys going down. Funny thing is I still feel good about our chances the next few weeks as long as DP stays healthy.

Losing Quinn,Largent, Foley,Ezell is not going to stop the Rocky bashers, they will be gleeful if we loose raining down the retread threads we ought to be in the Big 12, Sterk is jerk,Rocky is senile ,Toledo over the hill. If we so win it will only be because we are in the terrible Mountain West and should be a P5 team if we had a good coach.

This kid can throw a good ball, like Favre. I wonder if he's a big risk taker, like Favre. That can be good (and bad).
Oldie Out
