Guys, I know we are all frustrated by the fact that we start season's slow and seemingly cannot get over the hump. With that, we are going to finish 9-3, and will have a great QB competition going into next year. Enjoy it. The reason SDSU starts the season slow every year is because they play P5 teams. No mystery there. That's not the only reason. We lose to 1AA teams, too, early in the season. We struggle against lesser teams. It's not just the P5 conference teams that are the problem. And then we lose to at least one conference opponent we have no business losing to. Almost every year since the program was turned around five years ago. If the people on the Mesa (Athletic Department, school administrators and President) want local football fans to fill the stands for our home games they need to look in the mirror and ask if a mediocre team is enough to excite San Diego football fans. Hell, it's not even enough to excite the SDSU alumni! If only a small percentage of the alumni came out to the home games they could sell out Qualcomm! There's a problem selling Aztec Football, and that problem is mediocrity - not winning the big games, and struggling to win or flat out losing games that should be blowouts in our favor. The perception of Aztec football in this town is that of mediocrity or small time football - and that includes most of the alumni, not just the local football fans who didn't attend SDSU. Have we done anything in the last 20 years to prove otherwise? No. Hell, even with Marshall we didn't prove otherwise, we just proved that we had the best player in college football for a change. Unlike with Basketball, one player can't carry the team when it comes to football. This program hasn't proven their worth to the locals since 1977, really. The administrators and people in the Athletic Department don't seem to understand that.

we can compete. we are not playing bad. I think Oregon State is just playing extremely well. And that has been happening with EVERY P5 team we have played for, what, fifteen years? Looking at the issue statistically, the truth is that we are probably not very good. Random chance would indicate that P5 teams, occasionally, play poorly. Yes Virginia, P5 teams play poorly, except when they play us, then. . . . all of their problems end. I watched the game from the comfort of my Edmonds living room, afraid to attend the game, because the Aztecs lose every time I watch them play in person-every time. Statistics don't lie. We are not very good.

OSU is a vastly better team than NC. And yes we got Curb Stomped.
Our receiver's show a lot of promise.
MWC sucks. End of story and we should beat every team in it. (Did anyone see Utah States score> lol)
Next year we get a shot in the arm (literally) with a very talented QB.
Relax, our season is about to begin.
Go Aztecs!

We were the better team against UNC and let that game slip away. Oregon State was clearly the better team tonight. Much easier schedule ahead. We won't face anymore NFL caliber QB's. And that linebacker crew is the best will will face as well. Losing Ruffin has really hurt the offense. I think 8 or 9 wins is likely. Agree on all counts. OSU is simply a better team. More and deeper talent, more experienced and led by a future nfl QB, and playing at home. Definitely not a bad loss. moving forward should be much better. Unfortunately our toughest games are on road but 8-4 or even 9-3 isn't out of the realm of possibility. Winning conference is goal #1.

It's always goal #1 after we stink up our OOC games. Welcome to the Rocky mentality...

Good thing SDSU plays in a bad conference. Agreed, lets just play MWC games and feel good about our program. (Sarcasm.) C'mon man. You spend as much time here as anybody yet you don't care enough to bother to drive two hours to support the team in person. As discussed elsewhere, among the problems the team has is a bad game day experience at Qualcomm as a result of minimal attendance. Time for you and others who could help to mitigate that to step up and do your part.

The team really misses Jake Fely and Ezell Ruffin. 2 big losses in leadership and talent.
Hoping we CRUSH unlv next week.
