You can't help but root for QK. He is a stand-up and hard working dude.
Another thing that has been lost in the interception discussion, which I mentioned the day it happened, Mills ran a very poor route and gave him no help in shielding the defender from the interception. It's apparent in the article and post game comments by the staff the coaches agree.

I really like QK as a quarterback. As Sipe said, he did get us to the goal line, he's just got to learn when to take a sack or throw it away. But he's got all the tools to have a very good year. I'm fully confident he's going to shred most mountain west defenses.
Let's just get a big win at OSU and focus on getting our team ranked and on the hunt for an undefeated MW season.

Probably not the best choice to throw it especially with his arm, but KQ thew to the open spot and away from the DB. The receiver cut inside toward the DB and gave up. Had the reciever been going 100%, it was most likely an incomplete pass at worse.

Quinn is indeed a well spoken young man and I'm proud of the way he's handled this. The U-T? Uh, considering the use of terms like devastating, crushing and awful, if we win on Saturday, I expect to read equally excessive positive adjectives to describe that game.

Mills is one of the best route runners on the team, his route was fine, QK was just late and tried to force it... I do agree that Mills could have made a better play on the ball

Stephanie no longer writes feature articles for the Aztecs. Those days are behind us. Many here forget how many games last year we stayed in and fought to sneak out a victory. Quinn was a BIG part of our success last year.

I get that QK was managing the games that we won last season, but the time has come to do more than manage...

Appreciate that QK did review all the offensive plays ,especially the three interceptions . Plus his basic mechanics. Believe he agrees decision making is a very important part of being a QB . You look great on receptions and you take the blame on interceptions ,goes with the territory. Your OL and receivers are also important but the QB is the focal point.Especially if you have a pass play on first down, that you need to realize if the play is not going to work that you throw it away and then go on to second down. If it was a quick out then throw it early, or throw it away . If it was suppose to be a pass in the corner , receiver ran the incorrect route , play develops too slowly , pass rushers got in his lane then toss it away. Trust he learns from the experience and leads the team to numerous W's

I get that QK was managing the games that we won last season, but the time has come to do more than manage... I'm more concerned about him being too conscious about screwing up and as a result, will. Sometimes trying to be too careful works against you.

Plenty of blame to go around for the SDSU loss. I'm really proud of this team and there appears to be a lot of team chemistry. I like that QK is taking responsibility for his part in the loss and working hard to personally improve for the sake of his teammates. I've noticed there has been a tremendous amount of personal accountability taken by almost every player interviewed. It's one of the things I admire about what Rocky has created on the Mesa. Go Aztecs. In Rocky I trust!

That pretty much absolves Mills. He shouldn't have thrown the pass; that's a no brainer. But Rocky & others alluded to the fact it wasn't a very well run route during his luncheon.
