I'd place the odds of the Chargers getting a new stadium in San Diego at around 50% (a bit more if they win, a bit less if the don't). The odds of SDSU either building or buying the Q (for the purpose of using the stadium) at significantly less. The odds of SDSU building a stadium if the Chargers get a new stadium at either the site of the Q or downtown pretty much nil. It would be hard to convince alumni to put forth money for an Aztec only stadium where there is a perfectly good stadium option in the city. The funny thing is, were the Chargers to leave, almost immediately there would be a push to bring another NFL franchise to San Diego. The irony of this is that the Raiders would be one of the names mentioned. Obviously attracting another NFL team would require a new stadium. Oh nice, you provided odds. Please provide citation for your sources......oh wait. Hence the use of the pronoun, "I."

If a vote happens in 2016 he's also going to be campaigning for reelection so it will be interesting to see how he uses this in his efforts. It looks like a win - win - win scenario for the city, convention center, SDSU & the Chargers. The main problem with the convention center is that it would not be adjacent to the old one; not sure if that is ideal or not. The Q site would be an asset for the city & SDSU. SDSU & the CSU has the ability to structure, acquire & develop a real estate project as large as the Q site. The Chargers just need to structure a proposal that makes financial sense to the tax payers.

Personally I don't care what the Chargers do as long as they move their operation off of the Q site so SDSU/CSU can move forward with the acquisition and development of the site. If the Chargers actually structure a deal that makes financial sense to the tax payers and put their money where their mouth is I put the odds of getting a new stadium @ 100%. The Chargers stand to generate considerably more annual revenue with a new stadium. Considering the Chargers are valued at $1 billion, split $6 billion from the NFL and made over $222 million last year alone I think they can make a generous contribution/donation to the project if indeed they do want to remain in San Diego. If not, Orange County & LA awaits.

start being real college football fans . Worry about the team finishing on the field , AD department actually going out into the communities of San Diego . The stadium , sideline we are on , time of the game, home schedule, are not the key issues :winning football team is . Constant championship team could draw fans , but it all boils down on winning . Beat the Beavers and we could have a good crowd for the Rebels game .
