Just shy of 3 TDs sounds about right. I hope the score ends up being something like 49-14

Looking to see some improvement in the passing game, see how our safeties hold up and not get any injuries. If we can do this and win by double digits, I'm happy.

2014 = 10-2 2015 = 13-0
I'm torn between not tipping our hat with a vanilla plodding offense... and seeing some newsworthy pazazz from Ruffin, Pumphrey or whoever.
Half a dozen sacks please!

I just want a win, some solid defense and to not pass the ball 60+ times

Out of curiosity, I checked my copy of Phil Steele's to find that we were -14 against EIU last year. To jog folks' memory, they beat us by 3 TDs.

Lucky for us NAU seems to be more run oriented than EIU was last year....not sure if the coaches will try to keep the play book limited, but I get the feeling the kids are going to come out with their hair on fire. Damn I can't wait to BBQ and drink some cold ones this saturday before kickoff at 4:05. So close yet so far.

After that fine showing against EIU last season I just want a win against NAU.

The difference between NAU and EIU is that EIU had a NFL duel at QB Jimmy Garoppolo and WR Erik Lora. Last time I check they were both playing pro ball this summer. Garoppolo is starts the last pre-season game for New England and was a 2nd round pick. Erik Lora was an undrafted FA playing for the Vikings.

And it's the Aztecs playing in September* against a seemingly overmatched opponent who has nothing to lose and much to gain. Beware this game. * Okay, late August. But the point is the same.

I'm still worried about our secondary, no matter what the score will be.

I'm still worried about our secondary, no matter what the score will be. Time to worry a bit more. Rocky announced today that because of concussions, Stan Sedberry's career is over. We should be fine at CB but our situation at safety is now officially a mess.

2014 = 10-2 2015 = 13-0 Is Fely a good candidate for the Aztec Position?

We should be fine at CB but our situation at safety is now officially a mess. Wow, what a bummmer for the young man. We are really green at safety. I expect they will may play back/soft coverage to prevent game breaking plays. More pressure on our CB and LBs to start the season. Hopefully the dline gets pressure and makes their QB uncomfortable. So many questions and the answers are coming soon.

I'm a pure 6'1", 180 with like 15% body fat and a 5.2 40... I think I may have some eligibility left? Always thought I could be a good safety - Rocky, PM me!

Can't wait for the complaints when we don't win by 21. I hate spreads like this.

After last years debacle, just get the win. Of course we now know that Garrafolo is a solid NFL prospect but still.
And hopefully we can win sizeable enough to get many of the underclassmen's feet wet in live action.

It's a sign from the football gods...SDSU #win20 I like it!
New season, no need to bring up the EIU/CPSLO of the world. Let's crush NAU and get the talent in the secondary some experience.

Is Fely a good candidate for the Aztec Position? He's a candidate for the bench for the next few weeks and we need he's experience at MLB.

Is Fely a good candidate for the Aztec Position? He's a candidate for the bench for the next few weeks and we need he's experience at MLB. 2014 = 10-2 2015 = 13-0 I know that's the common theme. Fely is great, however the job he had at MLB is taken. The more I think about it, Galea may be the breakout player on Defence. I remember this on Rival: rivals.yahoo.com/sandiegostate/football/recruiting/player-Cody-Galea-87985He's 5"s taller and a small bag of redi-crete larger than Fely. He's being moved around because they want him on the field and where can he do the most damage. But we need Fely on the field. Low-and-behold a job opens up in the backfield where they need his experience and leadership. So which position is he best suited?
