youtu.be/Kcw-bCrPviQWatch 16:30-17:30 in that clip. It was just one of a few dumb questions from just today's press conference that makes me wonder if stefanie Loh just started watching the actual sport of football. She knows so so much more than me about the players and depth chart and so forth than I do but SO much less about football and that's my main criticism.

Do you know what was more disturbing than that? No one else had any real questions for Rocky Long either. It was such a poorly attended press conference that just a couple of reporters had an opportunity to ask so many questions. It seems to me that there were a couple of 3 stories being worked on by Loh and even though the questions seemed pedestrian to you ... the questions probably had something to do with the specific angles of the story she was going to write for the general public. Where were the "real" reporters, where were the "real" questions? Where was ESPN & Sports Illustrated's writers? Where was Sporting News and USA Today Reporters? Where was the FoxSports, CBSsports and NBCsports beat writers? Go ahead and complain about Loh, at least she was there ... at least she's trying to write stories to get locals interested in Aztec Football. If you don't like her writings, read somebody else's reporting about Aztec Football.

After listening to Rocky in that press conference, I think I like him more than before.

Thank you Ms. Loh for being at the press conference and asking questions. Thank you for the coverage you provide. Was "Tad" even there? Since Tad was anointed the beat writer for Aztec football, Ms. Loh has produced roughly 3 times more articles/blogs about my beloved Aztecs than he has.

Rocky like most coaches do not enjoy holding press conferences and are going to tell reporters as little as possible . He gave the basic reports about Odeman , QK , place kicker , LB's Feely , D.P, biggest concern Safety ,back up QB.... Has his thoughts on the depth chart , would guess he would not release one if he was not asked to . Shredded people asking the Q's and other Q's Answers to S. L 's questions were short , to set the tone for others . I do not know how many reporters are allowed to attend practices to have decent questions and how much you really know until you have scrimmages . As Rocky said so far there have been the practices not really much that are allowed by NCAA rules, he did not seem happy with the rules about them and not much contact playing to really evaluate the guys . P5 rules do not make him happy either , even though he states smaller schools have had to deal with them for 10 years now. The reporters may have been lame but Rocky also needs to be aware that they are the connections the team has to the public and to try to attract more fans . They have to do their homework but he could also do a little PR for the team .

youtu.be/Kcw-bCrPviQWatch 16:30-17:30 in that clip. It was just one of a few dumb questions from just today's press conference that makes me wonder if stefanie Loh just started watching the actual sport of football. She knows so so much more than me about the players and depth chart and so forth than I do but SO much less about football and that's my main criticism. While I realize that she never earned a varsity letter for football, I don't understand why you keep criticizing her by wondering if she "just started watching the actual sport of football." Given her stops at the University of Oregon and coverage of both West Virginia and Penn State as well as her writing, I'm betting she didn't just start watching the game. I reviewed the time frame you mentioned, and after asking about the number one place kicker on the depth chart, she responded to Rocky's answer with "Was he 100%?" Rocky replied with a chuckle and something like, "no kicker is 100%, but he's doing the best right now." While I'll agree that it wasn't a good question - unless she was referring to the kicker's health - it was kind of a throwaway question when she might have wished to have asked his success rate compared to the other kickers. Seems to me that you have gone to extraordinary lengths to criticize the one writer at the U-T who is genuinely working the beat (despite the fact Tod Leonard is the designated beat writer), providing blog and internet coverage, offering live Q&A sessions for us to interact with her - and giving us a clear picture of what is going on out there. And it makes sense to ridicule her for the content of questions she asked while trying to provide us with that coverage? As an aside, three players of my acquaintance who graduated in the last two years have at various times indicated to me their respect for her as a reporter and follow her coverage closely. Having worked or associated with some of the current crop of U-T writers, I suppose I should be amazed that Nick Canepa is permitted to write about all sports despite playing none when we were classmates from San Diego High School thru college, that Tod Leonard has the golf beat despite not being a scratch golfer or that Ed Zieralski can cover horse racing without previously having been a jockey or trainer. But I'm not. dtn
