San Jose state shouldn't really be in any D1 conference. Oh... come on now. SJSU, sans football, is a perfect fit for the Big West.

Let's talk down on San Jose State while San Diego State has done nothing but win low-tier bowl games and beat on double digit seeds in the NCAA tournament. Both SJSU and SDSU belong in the Mountain WAC. I'm not able to communicate to you or anyone else what I've been trying to say. It doesn't matter how "good" the team is today. I get that San Jose and Fresno can win ten games in a year. So can Ball State. So can SDSU if we get rid of the BCS teams from our schedule. Rutgers and Maryland aren't in the Big Ten because they've recently had winning records in sports. I think I get what you're saying. San Jose and Fresno are crappy universities and being associated with them is a bad look for SDSU. That might be true, but without being located in San Diego and the recent national notoriety of men's basketball, San Diego State wouldn't be that much better off. Rutgers and Maryland can probably sell tickets on name recognition alone. Fresno State, SJSU, and San Diego State doesn't have that type of loyal following. We all heard the Steve Fisher use to pass out free ticket story a million times. If San Diego State can turn things around despite bad politics, I don't see why the San Jose State can't someday.

I think SJSU belongs in the Mountain Worst. Here's why.
They're a CSU with a budget for sports. Being in a better conference can only make them more competitive. More competition means more revenue as students and fans start lining up for tickets.
Will this happen in a year?
Has it happened at SDSU?
Why keep San Hosie from enjoying a more competitive schedule of sports? If they fail, let them be the ones who drop down. I think it'd be short-sighted to kick them out of the Mtn Worst, particularly if at some future date, a few teams WEST of the Front Range would like to start another, stronger conference.
But if you do kick San Hosie out, do the same for Utah State, Wyoming, and CSU. They bring nothing to the party and take plenty.
