You watch or listen to nearly every game...
Yet you make a bull$#!+ statement, get called out on it... and can't provide any further details.
His high ERA? You mean the 18th best ERA in the NL among qualified pitchers? High for Stras, sure, but not high by any stretch.
Two years straight now his stats are among the very best in the NL and yet he is 19-19.

Higher than the team average... you mean the #1 team ERA in the National League?
Please explain the relevancy of his ERA vs. the team average. How exactly does that come into play or explain why he gets a ND or L when he pitches a dominant game?
Still waiting for details on your bull$#!+ comment above...

He's turned the corner on early inning issues and getting better run support. His pen has helped all season now Soriano failed him. 1stplace, scoreboard... espn.go.com/mlb/stats/pitching/_/league/nl/order/falseSent from my SM-G900V using proboards

Cheap wins: 0 Tough losses: 4
Why does Stras have to pitch an absolutely dominant game to ever get a victory? How many NDs and Ls does he have when he gives up 1 or fewer earned runs?
Why do the Nats score so many more runs once Stras leaves the game?
How many times in his career has Stras gotten a W when the Nats score the go ahead run in his final pitched inning?
How times has the Nats bullpen blown a multiple run lead once Stras has gotten them deep in the game?
Santana 14-7 / 3.61 Lohse 12-8 / 3.68 Baily 9-5 / 3.71 Collmenter 10-7 / 3.81 Peralta 15-10 / 3.84 De La Rosa 13-10 / 4.26

He isn't even better than the team average and barely above the midline of NL pitchers. Have some balance. He's on the best team in the NL and finally starting to pitch well. The organization is led by great baseball people. As for why? Either they are mean to him (JYP homage) or, it's baseball.... 7 games up with 22 to go... he'd rather be a Ranger or a Cub... yeah... Why do you keep mention the Nats team ERA average?
Is he pitching against the Nats?

He is there because they pay him so well. For a team you seem to think is so bad they must be doing something right, because as of this date (9/10) they lead the NL East by 9 games, and will make the playoffs no doubt for sure.

Nice to see Stras put in a strong effort vs. the Braves... hopefully this is the start of removing that 800lb gorilla.
Stu, what's the sentiment in DC regarding Soriano? It's hard to believe that Williams still has faith in this guy given his post All-Star game performance(s).

It's hard to believe that Williams still has faith in this guy given his post All-Star game performance(s). There's a lot of respect for Soriano and folks hoped it was just a temporary thing. Williams is playing it right now, letting him in in low pressure situations with a short leash, working on his mechanics and confidence. The other relievers are nails so there's time to get him back in form for the post season. A three man starting rotation and two starters for long relief in the post season will relieve a lot of pressure on the starters and bullpen in the playoffs. No matter how you look at it, they're in good shape and Strasburg is pitching his best mental game of the season right now. Last night was stout. Sent from my SM-G900V using proboards

I've been thinking it will be a 4 man rotation, perhaps (in order):
Fister Zim Stras Roark
Although it would be nice to get a lefty in that mix (but it would be difficult to justify having Gio replace any of those 4 right now).
I would also consider flipping Zim with Stras (to have Stras pitch at home).

Gio isn't on his game right now. There's been talk of a three man rotation on key sports shows. I haven't done any thinking of the logic yet. Stras is definitely one of the three per radio and the eye test.

Was interesting listening to FP at the tail-end of the celebration, he seems to think Stras will be pitching Game 1.

Lol. Here's the answer Sent from my SM-G900V using proboards And that pretty much sums up why, if I were a starting pitcher for the Nats, I would find a new place to pitch ASAP: No offense Terrible defense Horrible manager
