has good court vision allowing him to accumulate a good amount of assists tonight. Played solid D as well. He seemed pumped to be getting his first start.
Free throws need to be improved but that will come in time.

Game ball goes to Shepard and Rahon for keeping us in the game.
Fresneck D'ed us up pretty good tonight and played with good composure. Damn, from top to bottom this conference is really good this year if Fresneck is considered one of the bottom teams.

He looked good/confidant out there tonight. I'm having difficulty recollecting the last time an Aztec point guard created so many easy looks for his big men.

I thought Shepard played a very good game. That block at the end was NAILS! I didn't check the box score, but I think he only had 1 turnover with 7 or 8 assists. I was a little nervous with him at the line, but....

Imagine next year when he can shoot free throws. Him and Rahon really did yeomans work. We should have put that team away in the 1st half.
X got hurt and was less than a 100percent for stretches last year and we looked weak, same thing here. We need X back and playing at a high level, soon.

This is why he was getting all the playing time at the point earlier this season when a lot of people on here were calling for an end to that experiment...
hopefully this will put some of the doubts to rest

Not only was X out, but Taps was off and probably played his worst game of the year....Shepard was very good and without him we lose that game

Shepard saved us with that big block towards the end. Pretty sure that shot would of went in if it was blocked. Was impressed with his play today. BUT please work on the free throw.

He seems satisfied when he makes one of two free throws. That is unacceptable and could have cost us the game. Other than that, he had a solid game.

As I said before, give the kid time to grow. We will all be fans... I think he will as good as we think he will. He expects nothing less from his self as far as I can tell.
Great job kid, keep working hard.

I remember when BBA used to say all his assists were to his big guys for easy dunks...fine by me haha, worked tonight. Winston has excellent vision and I like his patience on the break, he really allows the wings to fill their lanes and his timing is very good. Defensively very strong today, weak at the line, hopefully we can right that ship over the summer.
Still want X back bad

So..., where are those who were unnecessarily criticizing him earlier as though he didn't belong on the team? He just needed more experience, and playing time. The TV announcers were commenting on how good he looked tonight, and his veteran play. And, that they could expect him to be a top star in the future.
