e2.ma/message/js6ye/7qxxus"Losing Boise State was disappointing, but I am proud that the BIG EAST did not compromise its standards and accede to Boise’s inappropriate and unreasonable demands. It’s not unrealistic to think that we may lose another member, but the conference is being aggressive in its planning and will remain a strong conference."

as did Navy. as did Ziegler's article as did Kustra's puppet Murphy. Everyone sees this deal for what it is but a couple p-sotters and the battered wives in the mountains. We better get some major concessions if we end up back in the MWC

Yeah how can we fault Boise for taking the best deal available to them? We would do the same thing.

Yeah how can we fault Boise for taking the best deal available to them? We would do the same thing. Yup. Boise had leverage and used it. Simple.

They're guilty of nothing other than looking out for Number One. Can't fault them for that. And regardless of our final placement come July, I can't help but think Boise's decision works to our favor in the long run.

What Boise did was a decision based on greed. Its a decision that every school in Division I has been doing during the conference realignment. Sooner or later someone will step in and fix this whole mess. For now SDSU must try to prosper in the Big East, because as much as MWC seems to stable and bright for us, there is a chance it will taint our schools soul with unethical judgments.

So we can only judge the deal in the future. But looking out for ole number 1 often is best accomplished by looking out for those around you

True, Boise was acting in its own self-interest and had every right to do so. However, it was the MWC that were the suckers in bending over for them. The same MWC that refused their entry into the league for years.

The same MWC that refused their entry into the league for years. So Boise State only came back after getting the killer deal. All things being equal they would have stayed in the Big East. Seems to me that for San Deigo State all things will be about equal at the worst or better in the Big East so they should stay in the Big East.

If people want to talk about destabilizing the conference in the future and creating a dog eat dog mentality, then all fingers should point to Thompson and the ADs who let this happen. The end game for Boise (and SDSU also) is to work their way up to a major conference, so when they don't envision the MWCs future in retrospect of the decisions they make today it's not surprising. Sterk made it very clear that the league could not put SDSU where it needed to be, and so it will surprise me if we return, albeit with our tails between our legs. My point is we will be looking to leave once again as soon as we return and Boise, once again, will perhaps be our meal ticket out. All speculation on my part, but only time will tell.

A Yoda joke? Here's the result of some quick research on Tulane: A beautiful campus in the nicest part of New Orleans. Ranked in the top 60 schools in the nation by all the rankings, member AAU, Carnegie Research, reasonable enrollment, strong alumni, over 1 BILLION in endowment. A destination city, a great recruiting area, investing 100s of millions into athletic programs and facilities. This is the type of institution that SDSU wants to be associated with. A GREAT CHOICE by the nBE!

A GREAT CHOICE by the nBE! I've been to the campus and it is beautiful. And it is an outstanding school, academically. But as a football addition, they suck. And as a basketball addition -- well their addition was the final straw that drove off the Catholic 7. So it wasn't really a joke. Yoda out...

Regardless of your feelings about Tulane or Boise, administrations like Tulane and USNA calling you out is no effin bueno.
1. It s generally unheard of to do. 2. Con job Bob Kustra whether deserved or not has Pissed of two very impressive Academic institutions.
Man don't know what Bob asked of the BE, but it was enough to get the Academic slap down.
