So there are 3 different scenerios out.
Boise is staying in the Big East
Boise is leaving the big east to stay in the MW
Boise is talking to CSU and New Mexico about leaving the Big East, not returning to the MW and starting their own conference.
I want to sit in the corner and cry.

After thinking about it for about 10 seconds, can I just say THERE IS NO WAY BOISE IS GOING TO RETURN TO THE MW. IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.

If the MWC can renegotiate a tv deal for say $3.0M per team per year, we (Boise and SDSU) probably should return to the MWC given the uncertainty of the BEast and its tv deal. And right now the MWC is one of the best basketball conferences in the country so MWC basketball should be able to generate some serious tv dollars as well.

is says the TV pay out for football for 2013 is still in place for the BE. anyone know what that is. What kind of TV deal would a league with CSU and NM be. Same with MW , TV deal is for 3 years.

Looking at the early schedule results of MW men's basketball and the addition of historically competitive USU next year, (currently 7-1), I would love to see men's Aztec basketball continue to dip in that pool. I'm not holding my breath. But, as always, we'll see.

Plus, who says they're thinking of returning to the MWC? It just says they might want to start a league with UNM and Colorado State. Of course a rose by any other name... The last conference formed was legitimized by two prominent programs. As one remains an independent that has seen their brand compromised by a battle to remain relevant what program(s) would drive this "new conference"?

If I were Boise I would talk to everyone and anyone who has an offer. They are the biggest drawing card out there so they are worth the most. They should look at all offers and take the one that's best for them.

Interesting if you read that link. BSU and the MWC are talking. SDSU and the MWC are not. Even more interesting in light of the interview with Sterk yesterday at halftime. He made clear that Boise could decide to go back but, even if they did, it didn't mean that SDSU would.
Yoda out...

Honestly I think Sterk is 'saying the right things' about the Big East but if Boise State stays in the MWC, SDSU does not need to pay an exit fee and MWC will take them back (and get 12 FB teams, which is the magic number for a championship game). Problem is they may also try to get BYU back instead of SDSU.

I can see where you are coming from but there is so much smoke about Boise State going back to MWC and with the revised TV deal, I would be very surprised if they leave (the MWC).

We haven't burnt any bridges. That's probably the wisest thing Sterk has done so far.

We haven't burnt any bridges. That's probably the wisest thing Sterk has done so far. No way the MWC doesn't take us back. This isn't about pride or ego, it is about TV $$ and successful programs. San Diego is the biggest market in the MWC and also the most successful FB/MBB combo over the last 3 season.

Some of the fans think you have, with Sterk's comments about the MWC. But I'd be surprised if the Presidents gave a rip -- if they even know. Market size trumps loose lips. Yoda out... .
