BOISE IS GONE AND BY THAT I MEAN STAYING IN THE MWC!
SDSU will and should follow suit.

See, that is the aspect that scares the $#!+ out of me. Don't you know that yoda's m.o. Is fear mongering on message boards? Relax, Sterk will do what's best for our school $$$ wise. I trust in Sterk but nothing is guaranteed at the moment. Logic says we have a large market, a solid product, and should be fine but the worst case scenario is that BSU goes back to the MWC with BYU (very unlikely due to their ESPN contract i know) and we get stuck in a very watered down BE. That possibility scares me.

I'm not fear mongering. I stated two facts. Our scared friend is assuming that SDSU won't be invited back but I didn't get the sense that Sterk was saying that. For all I know, he was hinting that SDSU and SJSU are talking to the Big XII. My point being, I don't know what any of this stuff means. I don't even know which of these rumors are real and which resulted from a lunchtime drinking binge among sportswriters. This is all too strange. Yoda out... .

That possibility scares me. It should scare you but I don't think it's very realistic. If I could only take one of you back, I'd take SDSU over Boise. It's a whole easier to build a consistently ranked football team than it is to build a DMA with a population of 2 mil (or whatever you are). Yoda out...

The only exception being if one of us were invited to the PAC or Big XIi and we know the likelihood of that happening without some major dominoes falling is slim.

Report from Boise radio says Thompson and Kutsra meeting in Boise now, with a possible announcement tomorrow. Didn't say what announcement would be.

So can we dominate the Big East and Boise the Mountain? Sterk said SDSU might not back out if Boise backed out. So yes we saw it might happen. So does the Big East need us even more then before?

I think Boise is looking for an all sports invite with a western division and they are using this as leverage.

I believe that SDSU is committed to play in the Big East next year, because that is what has been stated repeatedly. To back out now would make our institution look bad and cost $$. The MWC would have to at least match the BE money before SDSU can think about backing out.
Boise can do whatever the hell they want.

Kind of reminds me of coaching kids in youth sports. You coach them into watching the opposing players waist instead of jumping after head fakes and jukes given. The defense improves greatly once that happens.
Lots of head fakes and juking going on in this extravaganza. No MWC discussions reported with SDSU b/c Boise's waistline says, "If we come back, it's a package deal. You invite the Aztecs back too. Otherwise..."

It seems so simple to me... You get the 6-8 best west-of-the-Mississippi programs you can and the 6-8 best from east. I know a lot of you aren't too fond of ECU or Tulane, but they're both a damn sight better than Colorado State, Wyoming, etc. WESTSDSU Boise BYU AFA Houston SMU EASTUSF UCF Memphis Temple ECU Tulane Maybe I'm leaving somebody out. ---If people are dying to have Fresno, UNLV, blah blah, let them wait until this league has openings. They weren't let into the WAC until after we were; letting them in with us now amounts to moving backward. ---Forget about UCONN and Cinci as they don't want any part of us in the long term anyway. Let them play each other every week until they get into the ACC. If Boise really wants to be the 15-year-old champ of a 12-and-under league---which is what any league with Colo State by definition constitutes---then let them. We plug Tulsa or someone else in there. Boise is NOT Alabama. They've had a lot of fun lately but they are not like TCU, whose alumni can afford to play and win against the big boys consistently. The bigger question is will our admin have the sack to go it alone without Boise? Would they be willing to go forward with this... SDSU/? Houston/SMU Tulane/? UConn/Temple Cincy/Memphis USF/UCF instead of this... UNLV/UNR CSU Fresno/SJSU SDSU/Hawaii Wyoming/CSU AFA/UNM USU/BSU

is it possible the MW would only take your football back? That way, they get their championship game with 12 teams and force you to play basketball in the BW.
might be a silly question, but in this realignment period anything can happen.

If you look at the Aztec home football games as currently planned for next year in the Big East, it is one of the most attractive home schedules in recent memory....the dregs of the MWC are gone and in their place we are looking at the following:
Eastern Illinois Oregon State Boise State Cincinnati SMU Temple
That is a pretty good home schedule if you ask me...Oregon State, Boise St (assuming they stay), Cincy, SMU, Temple is legit!
