I would much rather have them...over Air Force. My first choice would be UNLV. Sadly...they don't play football. I would love to watch BYU dig their pity hole so deep (over Utah to PAC 12) that they can never get out.

I would love to have Fresno State join us. They have had top 20 football and basketball teams in the past, but have not been as strong in the last 10 years. Their football is doing good this year though.

The following is a subtle hint of sarcasm...
Not the Fres. the LAST thing we need is some meth lab in the Central Valley rejoining our fair conference, one that doesn't even want to be in it.
I take back everything I said about my dislike of Boise!

My first choice is definitely CSU Fresno, I mean we just rekindled our rivalry with them.

Taking Fresno would certainly eliminate the MWC from even dreaming of ever getting into that sixth Bowl game. The MWC is becoming the WCC...just with less TV exposure and greater expenses for playing football.

The more I've thought about it, the more we need to let every other team in the west wither on the vine - we should be on an island, we should be the only team besides the Truck Driving School that gets paid west of texas - let them all die. It's a modified island like TCU was on for a while. We want to be the only conceivable option out west (Boise's academics are decades away from making them a realistic option for any other conference)

Fresno would be fine with me. Bring them into Big West as well. The Big West could be a really good basketball conference. Who else makes any sense? UNLV has never had a decent football team. BYU would be good, but they have no interest. They gave their own deal. Air Force has a national reputation, but have ever been really good at football? Who else is there?

UNLV or Fresno State. Either one works for me. We need them in the Big West.

The Big East stalwarts are going --- Fresno? What's a Fresno? Isn't that where grapes to do die?

Not an INsider, so not sure if the article addresses this with facts to back it up, but isn't the major draw of the new BIGeast, programs with large TV markets or just kick A football programs? (Boise) Not sure how Fresno fits those criteria. Is the Central Valley really a desirable market that adds wealth to the conference?

CSUF is a good football team but they would add nothing to the BE - the BE needs either name brands (ybu) or large TV markets (lv). Although they probably deserve a shot, gotta pass. no one outside of the wac, mw see any difference between sjsu, unvl, csuf, or us for that matter.

3. The state won't wanna be funding college football for long. Therefore, sad as it might be for some, we need to run Fresno and San Jose out of business rather than encouraging their success. I hope we're moving forward with this move. As far as I'm concerned, no PCAA teams need apply. This. We need to take the Highlander approach.

Please god no. Lots of reasons, among them the following: 1. That program doesn't have a big-time (ie BCS) profile. They would add nothing to the BL's prestige, only to the scorn it already draws. 2. Someone mentioned a "rivalry" that we just "rekindled." Nonsense. We haven't been rivals with them since the early '70's IF then. 3. The state won't wanna be funding college football for long. Therefore, sad as it might be for some, we need to run Fresno and San Jose out of business rather than encouraging their success. I hope we're moving forward with this move. As far as I'm concerned, no PCAA teams need apply. Pretty funny. If they were in the Little East and the post was about adding SDSU all those comments would fit SDSU just the same....Just saying...

The Big West will never be a really good basketball conference as long as it keeps the bottom 2/3rds of the the teams. If the BW could reinvent itself and bring in 3-4 big time programs like UNLV & NM and toss out 4 of the bottom feeders, then we are talking.

i have no idea if this has been addressed... but has there been any interest in colorado state? (by the big east, not us armchair qbs on amesa)
id say its unlv or bust. its not like the big east is a powerhouse football conference anyway, and we can get the vegas market, and another tagalong to the big west.
