Even more disappointing are the few hundred at the 18K+ T&M at the MWCT. Even sadder are the so-called "Aztec for Life"ers who would rather piss away their $ at the tables than support the NCAA tourney-bound ladies (even though in some cases they're already there in Vegas and have the tourney package tix). Hey, I get it: women's game can't come close to the excitement of the men's game; but there comes a time when your team/school needs you. Suck it up, "I bleed red and black"ers! Oh please...Give it up. You can't make people go watch something that they don't want to see. Doesn't make them bad Aztecs or anything. How is not going to WBB any different than not attending ANY of the other sports? So quit with the "IF YOU DON'T SUPPORT WBB, YOU'RE A BAD AZTEC"...it's embarrassing.

You can make us fund it but you can't make us watch it. At least not yet. They should listen to Geno Auriemma; lower the basket and shorten the shot clock. Wow that would actually be really really good. i mean coming from a great coach like that!?! Besides the only reason the hoop is so high now is because of Wilt Chamberlain right? That should not apply to women's bball one bit. There would be dunks and much faster, exciting play. Where's the petition! Here's where he originally mentioned the idea: espn.go.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/8543879/geno-auriemma-uconn-huskies-coach-thinks-rims-lowered-women-basketballHere's an editorial follow-up that is very revealing as to the state of women's sports in general. espn.go.com/espnw/commentary/8551073/listen-geno-auriemma-ideas-changing-women-basketballInteresting bit: "At some point we need to grow the game and we're not -- we didn't sell out the Final Four in Indianapolis, and Notre Dame, which plays right down the road, was in it!" Auriemma said. "So we need to start catching up with our game to some realities." Like? "For one," he shot back, "we're in competition for the entertainment dollar. And the reality is all these athletic directors in a lot of places aren't getting a return on their money from women's basketball. It's cheaper and easier to have women's volleyball or tennis team."[/b] So I think we can put to rest all of the SDSU-centric comments about how we're all a bunch of retrograde Neanderthals for not spending time and money watching an inferior product. The perception of WBB is widespread and universal. Rare is the program/team that draws any sort of interest.

Anyone who says Aztecs Basketball is not entertaining when it is played by women has not been to a game in a decade. This year's team is fast and athletic! The passing is crisper than the men's. There are no ally-oop dunks, it's true, but they can ball for sure. Courtney Clements and Chelsea Hopkins could play on Steve Fisher's team. Ask Fish. He'll tell you!
Try coming out to one women's game.
Go Aztecs Men's and Women's teams alike!
