Stats can often lie. However, these about the Cowboys don't.
1. Rushing defense: allowing 223 ypg rushing and 5.0 ypc (our D is allowing 3.7 ypc). 2. Passing defense: have intercepted only five passes, or 0.5 per game (SDSU has intercepted 11 passes or 1.0 per game). 3. Passing offense: deduct his one 80-yard catch and leading WR Chris McNeill is averaging a TE like 10.0 ypc (not close to most of our guys). 4. Rushing offense: the team's longest run of the season is 31 yards (we have three players with much longer gains).
Wyoming QB Brett Smith, who's very good, has gotten healthy so they have been playing better the last couple weeks. However, Smith is basically the entire Wyoming offense and Fely or somebody will spy him on every play and slow him down. So unless we hand them a victory by turning the ball over, they won't beat us.

We should beat them, but don't forget they do own the all time victories against us at 18-15.
Plus, they usually play us tough so we can't overlook them since we lost to them last year. Have
to stay alert!

I noticed that New Mexico rushed for 396 yards against the Cowboys today. Muema and Kazee should have a field day.

Only way you lose that game is if it's in a blizzard and you forget how to tackle their QB. He's good but he's all they have on offense.

Weather will be crap. Good news, we play tough in bad weather- bring on the snow! And we are built to play in bad weather, ground and pound, ground and pound. Never thought I would say that about an Aztec team.

Right now the long-range forecast for next week is for zero precipitation with highs in the mid-40s.
Regardless, as ShawFan well put it, THIS Aztecs team is built for bad weather.

2 weeks to get ready for them. We've gone back and forth with them for the past 7-8 seasons I think. Not a gimmee game. Never a gimmee game.

Only way you lose that game is if it's in a blizzard and you forget how to tackle their QB. He's good but he's all they have on offense. The big mistake cold-weather teams and fans make is to assume that the Aztecs will fold in snow. We almost always win in the snow and the cold. I wasn't in Boise, but I believe it was not a warm evening. And I was in Reno and it was cold.

Smith suffered a concussion against Fresno and didn't finish the game but he's played each of the last three and threw four TD passes on Saturday. He's a very good QB who was overlooked because he attended HS in rural Oregon.

We have struggled against the pass all year long. It's hidden by the fact that we haven't played a legit pass offense in a while.
I'm nervous.

You have to be a fool to overlook Wyoming on the road. They did come into our house last season and beat our more experienced squad.

To repeat, they have a very good QB but their entire offense runs through him. Keep Smith contained and we'll be fine. Don't keep him contained as we didn't last year when he was 25-36 for 341, and we're going to be in trouble.
