May I suggest a couple of Mount Laguna field trips to (depending on how you look at it) either train the boys for high-altitude play, or get it through their psyche that Wyoming's much-vaunted "high altitude" is a bunch of malarky.
Maybe practice at Julian High's football field and then go for a training run around Laguna Meadow.

This. Smith should be freezing to death on the sidelines while our O kills them 4/5 yards at a time. All of this. I didn't give a rat's posterior about winning a MWC championship until this season began. However, the massive butthurt from fans of UNLV, UNM, Wyoming and to a lesser extent other MWC schools makes me really want to get this one. If we have to share it with Boise, so be it, they're leaving too. Of course, I wouldn't mind seeing AFA beat Fresno to keep them from sharing it with us. +1

This is the game that I predict Fresno State will lose. They're unfamiliar with the triple option and Fresno basically uses a conventional defense, a 4-3 or 3-4. Except for the fact that their HC was the DC at AFA...

Except for the fact that their HC was the DC at AFA... True, but his current players aren't his guys and are built for power, not quickness which we have and showed against AFA. They do give up a lot of points. It's too bad that we don't have another shot at them.

They will be looking to play spoiler so SDSU better be ready to play! Totally agree! 2011 Home 30-27 L 2010 Away 48-38 W 2009 H 30-27 L 2008 A 35-10 W 2007 H 27-24 W 2006 A 27-24 L 2005 H 34-21 W 2004 A 20-10 L 2003 H 25-20 W 2002 A 24-20 W I could do extra research and see who was favored in each of these games but does it matter? They've been close and we've lost several of these in the 4th qtr. The cowboys are NOT scared of us. No matter how bad their season has gone. I want this championship badly! To borrow from The Show "Burn it down on the way out!" w/Aztec Fire! Go Aztecs!

I always love the, 'we always play well in blizzards' nonsense. Playing a couple games a decade under different coaches doesn't a bad weather team make. But a power running game team does.
Wyoming gets up for 2 games a year: CSU and SDSU. I'm sure the ethics professor on the WYO sideline will have them geeked up. We should be able to control the clock and win fairly easily, unless Smith, who throws a lot of dink and dunks, can open it up down field on us

They exploded in the 3rd quarter against UNR just like they did to us - they are just a nightmare matchup with our secondary, they'd beat us again.

To repeat, it's all about Brett Smith. Here's another stat as to how much he's their whole offense.
Throw out the lost yardage for sacks and Smith has gained 403 yards rushing. Shaun Wick is Wyoming's top ground gaining running back. Wick has gained 346 yards rushing.
So we have to put a spy on Smith. I'd like to see it be Pinkins. Let him just lay the wood to Smith every time he runs. Might make him think twice about leaving the pocket.
As to dink and dunk, over the last half dozen games the defense has become very adept at implementing Rocky's bend but don't break formula.
