The only team we lost to that I expected to beat was SJSU and that was because the special teams imploded.
SDSU is going to win 3 of it's next 4 games. Maybe the board will settle down a bit then.

On the other side of the coin, neither SJSU or Fresno State has beaten a team with a winning record.

Exactly. We don't beat good teams. Fallacious reasoning an example Person A: All Scotsmen enjoy haggis. Person B: My uncle is a Scotsman, and he doesn't like haggis! Person A: Well, all true Scotsmen like haggis. iN other words any team we beat by merit of the fact we beat them is not a good team. I prefer this,in the last two season we have not shown the ability to beat any FBS team that has passing game that averges over 250 yards a game.

Of course we lost to them, they are going to bowl games. We just have to stop scheduling so many teams that are going to bowl games. We beat army and a 1aa, at least 3 teams left on our schedule aren't going to bowl games, so maybe one more won't and we can go 6-6 and go lose to a bowl team

Exactly. We don't beat good teams. Yes. The current SDSU team is going to be very similar to Ted's 1998 squad, just watch. We will be one of the last teams selected for a bowl. If we play anybody halfway decent like that team did, we will lose. If we luck out and get somebody who can't throw the ball, we might win THE New Mexico Bowl.

Our regular record against 1A teams that are .500+: 3-12 Our regular record against 1A teams that under .500+: 13-0 Wins: AF (twice), Navy. Thank god for service academies.

Exactly. We don't beat good teams. Unfortunately, that has always been the knock on Rocky as coach. He doesn't win against the better teams and that is why his career record is around .500.

Those teams have risen from ashes, but Rocky has pulled our team down from the trajectory that Hoke delivered to Rocky.

75-76 as a head coach. Will he all of a sudden wave a magic wand and become better than average? Nope. Rocky is gone in two years.

The difference between Hoke and Rocky is that Hoke never lost to teams we were supposed to beat, ie San Jose St., UL Lafayette last year, Wyoming last year. I'm not really counting Hoke's first year because of the last 4 seasons that was far and away the least talented. THIS is what makes me very nervous about Rocky because it's a very disturbing trend. 3 already in a year and a half. Neither one ever won a game that we weren't supposed to win, which is ALSO disconcerting.

It's Rocky's 3rd year as far as "his" players go. I will concede that year 1 with Brady was a throwaway in recruiting since they were late to the game. That given, the D should be better than we have seen, able to stop teams in the 2nd half and hold a lead. JMO

Ummm...you are aware that in Brady's first year here, he lost to Wyoming at home (despite having a 21 point lead), and lost to a bad UNLV team in Vegas.

Making that bowl put the program in a downward spiral that lasted 10 years. Making the bowl is what put the program in a downward spiral? This is a joke, right? State backed into that bowl game when the then AD was able to convince the Bowl committee a significant number of Aztec supporters would attend the game. On a cold, windy day, the game was pretty much lifeless. The only thing red and black crossing the opponent's 50 yard line in the second half was an Aztec pom pom blowing in the wind. No, I would say following that bowl game, the program pretty much fell into an abyss. And though it never takes much of a reason for me to go to Vegas, this game could have been mailed in.

Neither did Hoke here. Or in Michigan. He's been at Michigan 1.3 years and was only at SDSU for two. His teams at Ball State floundered for a few years and then took off. The reason was recruiting and Hoke is recruiting like a mutha at Michigan.
