My feelings exactly. Not as impressive as I expected. Just looks like a regular dorm with some UK basketball stuff thrown up all over.

Ikea sells dormitories?
They only have it because UNLV decided they didn't want a Coal Lodge.

I didn't bother to look. I'll bet the dirty ducks have plusher facilities for their BB babies. The Arena, Matt Court & surrounding facilities for the coaches and players are pretty sweet!

Have you guys seen the dorms at State lately? Even Cuic isn't that nice. haha ya people in this thread are saying "not impressed", "decent" or "meh", which is obvious they are just saying it out of spite, thinking that it will take away from the amazing facility UK has. Almost like a reverse psychology lol. Whatever works but if that place and their facilities are just "decent" or "meh" then by comparison, SDSU is the disgusting, filthy slums. I have caught onto a lot of people's personalities on here and most of them use reverse psychology. Anything un-related to sdsu, they think is horrible, filthy and "why would anyone want to go there?" hahah It is one thing to be a homer and hold your own school in high regard but come on, don't let that go to an extreme where you show everybody your ignorance and stupidity. And to the person that said "What a bunch of sissies! If a kid picks a school because of their amazing facilities, I don't want them!!! It just shows the kind of kids they want in their program". HAHA really? has ignorance made you that brain dead? The facilities play a HUGE role in a kid's decision. Not just the physical presence of the facility, but also having a facility like that shows to everyone that they are willing to spend every penny to be the top notch program in the country. And you don't want a basketball player because of that? lol do you even understand college sports? But anways, that UK basketball house is sick. Yes, it is not "STATE OF THE ART" but you do realize that really no other school has that right? our student athletes stay in the on campus dorms. So does all the other basketball programs in the country (Im sure some others schools do what UK does) But having what UK does builds more camaraderie. It will keep the guys together and the coaches can also keep a closer eye on them. But aside from that, it is their own little house...how does that not recruit? And you don't want a kid just because he fell in love with the facilities? You do realize that facilities are one of the top factors. To be honest, we dont have that great of facilities. Ours are decent. But its not bad to the point where it scares kids away. We have other things that make up for it. But if we had something like that...it would be a huge boost in recruiting. It would be a huge boost for any school.

So my question is why not take one of the houses on Fraternity Row, just outside the arena, and create a basketball dorm? The apt's are all shared by other students, so you aren't in trouble with the NCAA. My last check, there are other organizations there besides fraternities so it's not breaking the exclusivity up. You can't beat the location, and with a little bit of money the 'chapter house' in front of each of those properties could be a VERY nice bball lounge.

From what I saw @ UofO, I can't see how Oregon loses many BB recruiting battles. If it's about facilities the $250+ million and counting that Phil Knight put into Oregon's new arena & associated facilities should be like a magnet for recruits wanting to play on the WC. JMO

Judging by the title of this thread, and the first three posts, you'd think that the facility would be God's gift to college basketball. Is it nice? Sure. But IMO it's not as impressive as others make it out to be. And I'm pretty sure spgonzo was being sarcastic. Hence the " " at the end of his statement. So before you start throwing around words like "ignorance" and "stupidity" think before you post. Or perhaps refrain from pretending you know what other people are thinking on an internet message board. Because you sure as hell don't know me.

Although it is cool that UK has that, at first I thought it was going to be way over the top. Nevertheless, it's a cool facility that we aren't able to build.
