May be now you'll realize our D is very suspect. Army is lousy and they were deafeated by NAU. Weare in for a long season. NAU? Are you serious? What your flat wrong, they played NIU. Close, just different State, Mascot, and Team Colors. But close enough to confuse them.

Pretty down at the moment. The passing defense is what really troubled me. I new they were going to pass at least 70 percent of their plays and yet SDSU seemed to have trouble stopping their passing game. Predicting a pass is one thing and stopping it is another, but to be honest Rocky needs to get better on the defensive passing game. The only good PASS defender I saw was Leon Mcfadden. He impressed me with his D, but after that everyone looked sloppy.
If we don't get the field goal kicking and pass defense better we will not be going to a bowl game. One of the reasons why we struggled against Washington and NOT Army is because Washington has a good passing offense. This game exposed our passing offense like I never expected.
Back to the drawing boards!

The D is not as goos as it looked against Army and not as bad as it looked tonight. Thats sports. A win is a win. The D will play better.

Coach Long said the problems were ND had a good QB and we were not able to rush the passer most of the time and once we did, he was able to scrambled around and found positive yards by running or passing.

Bingo...... Even with that, stupid penalties gave ND points and took points off the board for the Aztecs. The O was well balanced and Katz got good work.

Give some credit to the UND offensive line. They were huge and didn't allow us much penetration. Their QB had time except on two blitzes by Jake Fely. Rocky's scheme all the way back through the New Mexico days gave up a ton of points to teams that controlled the line of scrimmage. It makes for an all or nothing kind of thing.

That was basically the best performance by the offense that anyone could ever expect.

WE did nto do well aginst any team with a good passing game. The reason we have no pass rushers plain and simple. WE have to blitz and we get burned. this is a recuiting issue. They has quality wideouts wo caught anything near them and abig qb iwh an excellent arm ,a huge oline tha pas blocks but can not run block.
Also we lost two TDs on penaltys three stops on penaltys and generally were god awful Except for boise there is no solid team in thsi conference. Nate Behr was right this deens eis scary but not in teh way he intended.

We should be able to trot out undersized lineman and also be able to complain about having to blitz (and if choochy long just runs a base offense we annihilate that team anyway)

Does this mean people will finally stop making the ridiculous comparisons to the dark side defense? Only saw part of the game but with that many long ND drives I can't imagine the SDSU defense was anything but bad.

What would you do? Obviously constantly run everyone at the qb that runs for 3 yards every time he gets blitzed and if it gets picked up throws to his much bigger receivers against your 5'9 backers. It's genius as long as your offense is basically f'n perfect.

What a horrible defense! ND did not have any run game and our DL cannot manage any type of pass rush. They were dominated by a bunch of big, slow guys. The ND QB had a lot of time to throw the ball. Unreal!
