Did anyone notice the bias in the announcers (who coincidentally are hired by the PAC-12) especially as they discussed controversial calls? No mention was made of the clothes-lining of Ryan Katz's neck as if it almost never happened. I see some real problems with the BIG 10 and the PAC-12 networks announcers because they are going to be biased in favor of their employers because otherwise it would essentially be "bad-mouthing" their own employer. When was the last time Chris Berman critized ESPN or Barack Obama criticized the Democratic Party?

I didn't really have a problem with the telecast. Of course it is their network. I thought it was better than watching say, a Chicago White Sox broadcast.

Aztec89,
There is a presumption of unbiased reporting that was disguised/not apparent by the broadcasters. Perhaps a disclaimer that you are an employee of the PAC-12 and that any comments may not necessarily be unbiased should warn the viewer that the commentary may be biased before any of the broadcasters say anything. As football junkies, we've become accustomed to unbiased football reporting by CBS, ESPN and FOX. Howevever, if you own stock in a company and promote that company among your friends, the first question is "do you own stock in the company"? Similarly, if you are an employee of a company (PAC-12) can you be expected to render an unbiased commentary especially as it relates to controversial calls? Think BYU replay fumble......I think you know the answer.

It is unethical to claim unbiased reporting or pretend anything of the sort when you are getting paid by someone to comment. For example, when the late night infomercials come on, you know none of these clowns is unbiased. Why is that? Because you know they are getting paid by whoever the product manufacturer is. So as a consumer you know to beware. The PAC-12 and Big 10 simply need to say, "our announcers are paid employees and any comments may be biased in favor of the PAC-12". PERIOD!

So you want the PAC-12 to tell you that the announcers for a game on THE PAC-12 NETWORK are employees of the PAC-12?!?!? lol. you dumb.

Yes....as a matter of fact. the correct answer is yes, they should disclose they are employees. When Jim Cramer or any stock analyst offers an opinion about a stock it is SOP to disclose whether or not you have an interest (either as an employee, stockholder or indirect affiliation) in that company. The PAC-12 has deftly avoided making any disclaimers about whether the commentators are biased or not. It is really a very clever strategy because the unwary public presumes the commentators are unbiased.

I had no problem with bias, it was all the mistakes that bothered me, seemed like he was wrong more often than he was right.

Ned4,
What's your point?

I think that the point is.....who the f cares?
We lost the game and it makes us look like whiners not winners to complain about the announcers on their own channel.
Think UW fans will call and complain about Ted Leitner on our radio broadcasts?

Ned4,
Is that your point? Oh and btw...I would love it if the BEast had its own network and announcers so when we clothes-line a quarterback we can pretend it was the quarterback's fault for standing upright and have the officials politely agree in front of our home crowd. Just better hope you don't sever the quarterback's spinal cord.

I had no problem with bias, it was all the mistakes that bothered me, seemed like he was wrong more often than he was right. Agreed, Calabro seemed like he couldn't even see the field or comprehend what was going on, his performance was outright embarrassing. Archuleta I thought did a good job as a color commentator.

Maybe Calabro was watching the game through the same feed I was--a small, non HD (the MTN-esque) picture.

Unwad your panties. I didn't detect any bias. I thought they were more knowledgeable than the mtn announcers actually. Knew about the Aztec team and even mentioned notable alums like Sipes when he was on screen. I know that's all stuff they get in the pregame media guide but it seemed like the mtn guys either never knew or bothered to read up. The play by play guy was terrible though. Kept getting calls wrong all night long.
