Keep in mind that this is a ProBoards operation. That means that it's free! I suspect that in many cases other schools' boards are professional operations, which is understandable because so many of the top schools derive huge bundles of money from their rich alumni fans. I, too, have visited a number of other fan boards. Frankly, some of them are a bit obtuse in my opinion. The ProBoards format is not without its shortcomings, but it is clean and pretty easy to use. Look, if fans want to engage in discussions of their favorite sports, they can do it just as well here as on other boards. I would suggest that posters can help by making sure that their thread titles are as clear and meaningful as possible. That would include identifying which sport is the topic of the thread. On that question, I must say that sometimes posters mention choose thread titles that are not terribly clear. It's important to remember that not all fans know as much as you do; if you mention Ricky Sweatmeister a lot of folks may have no idea what the thread is about. A reader who's never heard of the guy is likely to shrug and then go to the next thread; if the thread title gives the reader more information, that same reader may decide the thread is worth checking out. AzWm Thanks for your thoughts. Appreciated and respected my friend. My apologies if I came across condescending as another poster mentioned. This thread to a certain degree proved it is possible to exchange some fair and balanced opinions in good faith. There are tweeks I would make but I am an outsider looking in for the first time. I love the idea of a separate hoops board with some other ineresting features. I enjoyed this give and take. It was fun and I look forward to learning from the diehards here over the next few months. Best Always

If they have no depth and the fact we have other options inside. Last year we lacked the latter which made the former irrelevant. But if we face a team like U of A with a lot of front court depth that strategy may not work. regular fouls plus the proposed hack-a-shawn will lead to lots of 1and1s and 2 shots on touch fouls for Jamaal, Taps, etc I get that. But, I'm talking about Stephens in crunch time. Getting to the line needing to sink 2. I love his intensity on D and the boaards, but I won't feel good when this happens.

If it's organized, it ain't SDSU. Struck a funny bone here. Every time I see Schnall march down the Warrior Walk looking like A. E. Newman I have a similar thought. Is it a common thought or is it that tailgate beer influence?

First, let's see how he shoots this year, if he even hits low 60s it's not a problem at all. If it's as bad or worse than last year, then he has to sit the last few minutes. If kid plays D at the level I think he could, he's a perfect fit for the team; and, with most guys not named Jamaal or Chase, there is going to be a healthy rotation anyway.

It was a flop he told me himself. Genius move though right? Changed the whole game 1 play. Franklin is a better player for it today. This year he could be cutting down the nets. Yes, that it did. And thanks for the recognition. It's nice to know we're getting some OOC love from the BE fans. My pleasure! I love teams that will "lineup" this year like SDSU. LOVE great guard play!

Best Always I shouldn't have gone on the attack the way I did. For that I apologize. It's just that we've had a handful of people trying to profit off this operation and if anyone is gonna do so, I'd rather it be an SDSU student or alum. Now if you have any stake in New Era hats, I'm all ears. Your Pal, John Thanks!! The Key is for Aztec fans to be enjoying Bone's in the ATL!!! Aztec fans deserve to experience the Dry Aged Bone-in Ribeye @ Bone's! It will be a fight and an all out war (from a hoops perspective for context of course) to get there!

Yes. My thought exactly. "Let us Big Boys show you how to do it right" Please, we are fine and don't need your help. Yes we have 3 National Titles in hoops. The problem is our coach has turned into an egotistical, self centered the world revolves around me J/Azz. Glad I don't share those character traits with Jimmy! Thats ok maybe I'll ask for your help 1 day and your unselfish acts will be met with appreciation! LOL

I see a certain unmistakeable writing style in this thread. As long as we are not going down the slippery slope of forensic transciption/linguistics then I will be able to breath easier. LOL haha Great to know the transciption police are out in full force on a basketball message board! LOL haha!

Since your team is primed for a nice seed in the NCAA tourney lets vet possible second game matchups. What are your thoughts on VCU this year? I was thinking a #3 seed (SDSU) vs. #6 seed (VCU). Let's switch to the national scene. Always fun to speculate in the dog days of summer! Hopefully this will put a Kool-Aid smile on the ole face and you won't be so sad! LOL

Leave the board as it is. No more seperate "foums" than we already have. As a matter of fact, I would perfer returning the recruiting stuff back to the main forum.

If it were up to my personal preference, I'd have 3 forums.
General Football (with recruit sub forum) Basketball (also with recruit sub forum)
But that's just my preference. I like to be able to know what I'm gonna find when I click somewhere.
Also, not looking for feedback or your opinions on the matter of my opinion. I honestly don't care how this forum chooses to organize itself.

If SDSU ends up top 10 and best in the west (which we will be if we are top 10), then why a #3 seed? Why not a #2? Are you just being conservative? P.S. I for one welcome you onto our board. I appreciate posters who want to genuinely engage in a respectful way.

I think there was an advantage to a combined board in cross pollinating the basketball and football fans. But I think we are fast approaching the point that separating the boards is a good idea. Especially from September through March. In September and October football is going on and basketball gets lost in a screen full of football posts about games that happened and are about to happen. And football posts get lost in January through March by crazy basketball fans filling the entire first page with nothing but basketball. I would like to see separation as listed above for at least Sept-March.

In theory a team on the back end of the top 10 in the AP/Coaches Poll (for simplicity sake) at the end of the year would most likely be a #3 seed. They would be a bubble #2 seed! Have a great day my aztec friend.

The board is mainly football in summer early fall and basketball winter and spring....no need to have separate forums. Frankly having the recruiting sub-board is not needed, but it is what it is. I love going to one page and seeing everything at one shot.
