Offered by Harvard, Penn, and Yale. Maybe Fish is looking to boost our grades and graduation rates.

Reminds me of Spain. Good court awareness, sweet stroke outside the arc, smooth to the basket.

This kid is one of my son's good friends and he is a great player, student and person. His brother is an SDSU grad, but Harvard is a strong favorite right now. Stanford was on him early and has faded for some reason even though I think he's better than anybody they have. He wants to play at the pro level so Fish should try to sell him on that. #34 on Palma (in video) is Jack Powers, an all-state defensive end with several Pac-12 offers. He's 6'6, 260 and we should be offering him too (his parents are both USD grads and he's a strong student/character guy as well). Also, Orlando Johnson, the Pacers rookie shooting guard out of UCSB went to the same high school.

At $50000/year in tuition, a four-year free ride to Harvard is nothing to sneeze at. But I do wonder how the new level of recruits Harvard is getting will do academically since Harvard probably doesn't have too many "easy majors" tailored for jocks. Not that Allen or the other recruits aren't capable, it's just so difficult to stay on top of studying and compete with other smart people in your class while who are studying their asses off while you're practicing free throws.

Can't argue with him going to Harvard. Solid basketball program and I've heard they have a strong academic focus.

He decommitted from Harvard today. Fish should call him. Really? I didn't see this coming at all. Harvard was considered the heavy favorite even before we offered. Dakarai Allen is obviously the better SF and we landed him, I'm not sure we want another one in this class. Or do we?

No athletic scholarships are awarded, but all students who are admitted will be provided appropriate financial assistance if needed, including athletes.www.hcs.harvard.edu/womswim/recruiting/myths.htmlNot sure if aid is a grant or only a loan?

Kinda strange. I thought most students were awarded some form of scholarship. Especially given Harvard's endowment - they can afford to fund a scholly or two.

I would do soul-shreddingly awful things to afford Harvard or Yale's tuition.
